Biography
Raekis
Do not underestimate me you puny human!
Do not underestimate me you puny human!
The Assassin desperately needed an alchemist, more so since Shiryu had joined their clan. At the market that morning a new dragon had taken a place at a crooked tabled full of cards, promising good fortune to anyone who spared a dime for him. He entertained himself by flipping cards while watching potential clients pass by, rushing to buy what they needed and get back to their homes. The dragon wore a bright blue hat and a thin, deep purple collar. Bright blue stones adorned his chest and waist, and a wooden staff lied behind him. The Assassin, curious about the dragon's strange offer, placed a clinking bag onto the bent table as his dragon companions looked sceptically at the supposed fortuneteller before them. The dragon brightened immediately, happy to flip cards for someone who seemed interested, and was offering to pay good money if the clinking sounds were anything to judge by. The first card was drawn and placed onto the center of the table, “The Tower, upright” said the dragon solemnly, “Disaster, revelations.” The second one was laid on the left, “The Sun, reversed” his head bowed, hiding eyes from the man, he had promised good fortune after all… “Failure, depression.” The third card and last card was set on the right - a last chance, “Judgment, upright” the dragon grinned “Rebirth, absolution.” Lifting his head along with his paw, “See? Suffering shall come but, ultimately, good fortune as promised. Now that I've told thy fortune, won’t thee be so kind?” The man smirked as he got up from the wobbly stool but the dragon bristled as the promised sack disappeared back inside the man’s cloak. “Good fortune may well find to me but I think it has already found you. I need myself an alchemist, do you think yourself competent?” The dragon scrambled upright making the frail table tremble, “How dare you! I’m one of the few from Skywall! A place was built to cage the northern wind, and to keep the tempest in chains. A fleshling like you would be torn apart just standing at the threshold!” The man grinned and tossed the gold purse at the upset dragon, “Then prove your worth.” The dragon was left dumbfounded by this human - a mere human! - who had belittled him. As he watched, the man began to walk away with his dragon companions in tow, one of them daring to turn to observe his reaction. Angered and itching to show these mongrels what he was made of, he tilted his head and grabbed his staff, he would show him! |
