Bone Soldiers were honorable and loyal soldiers that served in ages long since passed. They were the backbone of armies and those who fought and died on the battlefield soon joined them. Dragged back from the peace of death by vile necromancy, these skeletal swordsmen have been drafted into a unholy army of the dead to defend the halls of the Ruins in which their new dark master resides.

A corrupt king from the Second Age who had learned his way around the ancient art of necromancy. Necromancy had only just risen from the darkness of the unknown and had still yet to evolve - making it a dangerous and heinous practice. The dead were stripped of their flesh and blood, leaving only the bone; thousands upon thousands of bone soldiers marched for Aiakos, giving him the fear title "The Bone King". Aiakos grew power-obsessed and declared war on most of his surrounding rulers, defeating them and wiping them all out in the process; nothing but death and destruction remained after his battles. The dead were "resurrected" to serve Aiakos and join him in his conquest. With the more distant rulers cowering in fear and begging for negotiation, while planning his next attack Aiakos even destroyed his own kingdom and its inhabitants; adding their bodies to his bone army. Nearing the end of his conquest of the Arcane territory where he was born, Aiakos was confronted by a powerful being who was able to bind his powers with a powerful Light seal, making it so Aiakos could no longer produce any more undead bone soldiers. After his capture, Aiakos was sentenced to an underground crypt where he would die alone with his thousands of bone soldiers. Aiakos now sits among a bone throne with his army scattered at his feet, trapped and powerless from leaving or practicing his aged necromancy. |
