B I O G R A P H Y

A dragon of few, and pointedly blunt, words. She's in charge of her own little world, and doesn't take advice or direction from anyone who hasn't earned her respect. Her entire mind is dedicated to combat; simple, brutal, and perfectly effective. She knows it inside and out, as she knows and understands herself, in an instinctual, few-words kind of way. Her mind is the mire. Her purpose is battle.

Mythica excels in training other dragons to become stronger. As a combat expert, she is often entrusted with training young dragons, especially those who will serve the clan's deity. These she treats with a teacher's respect, pulling through every challenge by their side. Her patience for trainees who try to learn is limitless; those who don't co-operate... well, she knows every rough patch in the mire and will put any dragon through enough trials to make them see things her way.

Mythica soared over the nighttime landscape, her wings barely beating as she glided through wind currents like a dolphin through the waves. Below, the land rose in smooth hills and plains, all carpeted with dry grass. The drought season was in full swing, and she was counting on that. Ahead, her keen eyes picked out the shape of broken marble columns and the tall spire of a sundial. She was almost to the border of the Sunbeam Ruins, excellent. A brisk gust of sea air struck her, briefly blowing the agile Skydancer female sideways before she dove and escaped the wind current. Waves pounded against the shorelines below, separating the northernmost border of Sornieth’s main continent from the island that housed the Viridian Labyrinth and the domain of the Gladekeeper. She could see a small pod of Maren bobbing in the seawater, but they appeared to simply be enjoying the night air and so she left them alone. The shadows of thick vine-laden trees were where she was heading, where pools of stagnant, mossy water reside between undergrowth that provides hiding places for strange and twisted creatures.

Technically speaking, Mythica shouldn’t have been battling monsters without at least one teammate. However, she knew that she worked better alone, and that her clan needed medical supplies that could only be obtained from the monster-infested Mire. She decided to take it upon herself to procure those supplies- after all, Mythica was a strong warrior, and the drought season would only help her in her endeavor. Many of the monsters that inhabit the Mire are at least semi-water dwelling, and with their pond homes starting to dry up, they would be weaker. The Skydancer dove towards the treetops, her wings barely skimming the foliage as she looked for a clearing to land in. With the trees of the Viridian Labyrinth growing thick enough to walk across, there was no way that she could simply fly through the leaves. A fallen tree had opened up a gap ahead and Mythica flew towards it, ducking through the hole in the greenery and disappearing into the nighttime forest.

Almost immediately, Mythica ran into a pair of monsters. A Brilliant Psywurm and a Common Podid were tussling on a small island, snarling and snapping at each other over a patch of brightly colored flowers that she recognized as the supplies her clan needed. The instant Mythica landed near them, the two creatures broke apart and switched their aggression to her. The Skydancer female snarled and lashed her tufted tail, trying to get them riled up so that they would attack, she could soundly thrash them, and she could fly back home. Mane glowing bright as it charged her, the Brilliant Psywurm was the first to take the bait. Mythica immediately dodged, swinging out one of her claws to score multiple lines across the bright monster’s flank. It hissed, retreating a few steps as Mythica unwound the sturdy rope of her chosen weapon from its place behind one wing. Obviously undeterred by the lack of success that its comrade had, the Common Podid launched itself at her with massive claws waving. Mythica hastily spun the weapon, the rope twirling as it wrapped around the Podid and the razor-sharp blade at the end sliced through the monster’s scaly hide. Just before it landed on her, she ducked out of the way and took off. The Common Podid shrieked and snapped at her as it was hurled through the trees and splashed down in a scummy pond. Fortunately, her ice pick had been enchanted by a mage a while back and came zooming back into her claws. Turning her focus back to the Brilliant Psywurm, Mythica swung her weapon threateningly. The creature took one look at the fearsome blade and fled, phosphorescent mane glowing as a beacon in the darkened wilderness as it hurried away from the dragoness.

With a sense of triumph, Mythica picked her way through the puddles of mossy marsh water to the small hillock where the Psywurm and the Podid had been fighting before she settled their dispute. The colorful flowers that the two creatures had been fighting over were slightly squashed, but still usable. She smiled, moving her ice pick back to behind her wings as she gingerly picked up the flowers with her pale claws. The fuchsia bulb attached to her forehead bobbed, casing an eerie light on the plants in her talons. The Skydancer dragoness looked up at the thick foliage of the trees above her, leaping into the air and taking off. Mythica soared towards the gap in the canopy that she had entered the Mire through, shimmering platinum wings beating hard as she took to the sky.
