Biography
Gorgeous art by Chox
Awesome lore by Bartz
Magic abounds in the lands of Flight Rising. With the sweep of a claw and the right runes, a dragon can ignite their foe or turn them to stone. Rarer still is the ability to mend a wound, to turn a grievous blow into a small scratch. A healer is well loved amongst the dragon clans.
Aryto was born amongst the towering trees of the Gladekeeper’s domain. His eyes, the same emerald as the lush canopy, flickered with startling intelligence. Amongst his clutchmates, Aryto quickly distinguished himself through his compassion and startling intellect. Instead of turning it towards strategy or battle, as he was urged, Aryto turned his studies towards the plants of the Viridian Labyrinth.
The plentiful and varied flora occupied his attention, yet he still had duties to attend to. After his reluctance for combat became apparent, Aryto was given gathering and hunting duties to aid the clan. The gathering was simple enough; the young dragon loved exploring the verdant wood and with his immense knowledge of flora gave him access to foods other dragons might have glanced over. Hunting was another story; while meat and other foods might be a necessary part of the clan’s food supplies, the imperial detested the thought of killing other creatures. It was the thought of healing that excited Aryto, not inflicting harm.
Turning his abilities to heal on the prey he was supposed to bring back to the clan, Aryto practiced tending to their wounds. He did so in secret, afraid how others would react to his defiance. Eventually, however, his secret was revealed; his clan mates discovered him working to aid a wounded creature he was supposed to be hunting. Rather than reacting with anger, as Aryto had expected, his clan mates celebrated his progress in the art of healing. There were enough hunters and warriors in their clan already; a dragon with the healer’s touch was more valuable by far.
As time progressed, Aryto recognized he was reaching the limits of his own powers. While he knew a great deal about the plants of the Gladekeeper, magical healing was still outside his grasp. He could craft a poultice to help heal a wound or a wrap to prevent infection, but the arcane rune stones containing the essence of healing eluded his grasp. Some day, he was sure, the stones imbued with the power to heal would come his way; he just needed to be patient and, in the mean time, help as he could.
“There is so much suffering in the world. How can I idly sit by without doing my part to help?”

Aryto's ribbons that seem to dance on the breeze seem harmless, but they are very deadly. They actually obey his orders, and are a mere extension of his body. He doesn't see them as mere paper ribbons, but as conscious entities. The duo make a dangerous team. Just don't make him angry. It won't end well.
