Biography

Calathea

"You cannot achieve greatness without taking risks. I mean, look at the Arcanist. Everyone blames him for everything that went wrong, forgetting that were it not for him, the gods would probably be asleep to this very day."

Calathea's workplace is a mess only she can get around in. Feathers, beads, strings and other trinkets most likely used to make charms lie in disarray in a corner; pieces of wood, paper, and rocks with strange words and symbols scrawled on them are stashed away in a box that looks just about ready to fall apart. In another corner sits an enchanting goblin, trying and failing to sort a pile of old papers of unknown origin and purpose, some of which look utterly illegible. A couple flasks with potions of various colors stand slightly off to the side—who knows what they’re doing here—and among all this sits a medium-sized dragon with magenta eyes hidden under a cloak.

The dragon raises her head and—in a cheerful, bright tone, not quite matching for this mysterious setup—begins to speak directly into your head.

“Hello! Would you like me to tell your fortune?”

She grabs the box, which somehow still manages to stay in one piece, and chooses a handful of cards; one with the appropriate Flight symbol, one with a stylized image of the Arcanist, and three more with symbols whose meanings only she understands. As she examines them, she continues to speak.

“Hm… I see, I see! There is much in store for you…” She looks up and smiles mischievously. “... But I feel like you'd feel disappointed if I just told you like this. Why don’t you experience it yourself? That will be so much more fun. Trust me, you want to.”
