The nephew of a previous resident named Alberic, or "skillful ruler" Alber is named in honor of him and also for his own "swift mind".

His uncle has gone off on travels to other lands, leaving young Alber in the care of the clan. He has become close to the other Spirals, but moreso other breeds as well.

In the time the two shared in the Icefields, Alberic showed the young Spiral tips and tricks of his trade, that of gemstone polishing and keeping. (Making him close with Smaug and Sieglinde.) Alberic also worked in cataloging those who had gone to serve the Icewarden from the clan and honoring them for their service.

The hardest part of that training period was curbing some of Alber's natural Spiral-energy, but their Earth Flight basis aided in that focusing.

Alber is one of the few Spirals in the clan that is not a scout, or under Reach's direct orders.
He also is one of the few to spend a lot of time with the resident, apothecary, Salem. The two have grown close and are now called mates. Some wonder what drew them together.

Perhaps Alber wanted a quiet individual to confide in, in Salem's dark lair where she would craft remedies and cures... Maybe he wanted to forget some of the things he has dealt with regarding the exalted.
