Biography

Hoshiko, the barren. Hoshiko cannot manipulate external energy and her internal reserves fled her body years ago. Born in the grey-blue realm of ice and snow, she yearned to experience the heat and fire of vermillion summer and to bask in the glory of verdant spring with such a fervor her body rejected its native energy, and her temperature began to rise. The heat she shed endangered her very environment, so her family ousted her; their limited efforts to save her could keep her alive, but not return her to her original state or remove the deleterious affects of her condition. She weathered the journey out of the Fortress of Ends in search of a place to live in exile, leaving a trail of meltwater and thin ice in her wake.
Holed up in the Wandering Contagion she he found she could no more wield the power of fire than she could recover her tolerance for ice. Powerless, and fully aware that put a member of her breed in deep trouble, she sought refuge with the first clan willing to accept her.
She continues trying to regain use of magic, tirelessly. Currently, she dates Behlül, who initially approached her to inquire about her unusual properties, but they came to enjoy spending time together. Behlül admires the perseverance and pep she displays in spite of her circumstances.
The collar of ice around her neck, blessed by the Icewarden, is the only thing keeping her alive. Where it touches her skin it is constantly melting, but the god’s magic perpetually renews the outer ring.
“Do I regret wanting what I did? I’m not sure. I live a fragile existence now. But it’s closer to the one I wanted.”
