Bossy, thinks highly of herself because of her strength and wits. Charismatic, can easily rally other dragons behind her with her energy and eloquence of speech. On the other side of the coin, she's capable of scathing sarcasm. Uses her strength to put others in their place if she feels the need. However, she's capable of reining herself in to avoid what she deems unnecessary conflict. Notorious for her avarice, a lot of her endeavors are driven by her love of money. Keeps a large personal stash of treasure and gems for her own private use. |
Being born to a noble family of storm-causing dragons and being served anything she wanted is enough to make any dragon bratty. Born as "Stormfly", she hated trying to practice her weather abilities. She wasn't very good at it — especially embarrassing since she was the eldest of her nest. In her teen years, she sat in the audience of a traveling circus. Once the show was over, she begged the ringmaster for a job. The ringmaster said yes! She named herself something silly — Taradiddle slinkied off the tongue nicely — to match her new lifestyle. It wasn't all glitz and glamour at first: she was tasked with janitorial work, picking up after audience members and cleaning monster enclosures. Within a few months, she asked for permission to be part of the main show and got it, becoming a fire-twirler. A decade into her career, the circus set up the big top in the Sunbeam Ruins, as it had for many years. But this was the first year that Light soldiers, on a military conquest, had overrun the show and imprisoned the circus employees. Taradiddle was forced into a military training camp, where she met Mercury, who became her fast friend. They were in the middle of combat training when suddenly, the conflict was over. Light lost. The prisoners were freed. Mercury decided to continue with combat training. He wanted to be strong enough to protect his loved ones if such a thing happened again. Wanting to stay by him, Taradiddle followed him to the Southern Icefield. She liked feeling powerful, and she wanted to protect Mercury, too. They settled in the tundra and had a few nests together. Life was perfect for many years. Their children grew up, expanded the den; they were their own little clan. Taradiddle wanted this to last forever. Mercury, a bit bored of home life, decided he wanted the glory of working under the Icewarden. Taradiddle nuzzled him goodbye, knowing it was an honor. Taradiddle wrote letters to him for a few years. His replies became less frequent as time wore on, until they soon stopped altogether. Taradiddle left their home to the remaining children and traveled to her birthplace. She wanted to put her skills to use as a combat trainer-for-hire. Her plans quickly changed, however, when the small, nomadic Shadow clan that hired her had their leader go missing. After days of searching, Taradiddle stepped up into the leader role, delegating orders. Calling the little clan the Cloakscreen Clan, she led them around the Tangled Wood, trying to find a permanent place to settle. Some she trained in combat for a monetary fee. Some dragons disliked how she ruled; many came and left over the years while she was left to rule alone. Things changed when Lior showed up. |
