Velvet
➳ clan role▲ trait, trait, trait ▲
Velvet - Mated to - Bio - Velvet was cast out of the Shifting Expanse when she was just a hatchling. Her exile was largely due to a terrible accident which left her blind in one eye, and in turn caused a "decrease in productivity". At least that's what the factory's production manager had cited when she was fired mearly a day after her accident. She wandered from land to land searching for work, but her disfigurement made others wary and uncomfortable. Occasionally she would land a job or 2 here and there- but those never lasted long. The other dragons she worked with always found something wrong with her. Most were just unnerved by her blinded and scarred eye. They laughed and made fun of her behind her back and some even went so far as to make up rumors about her and spread them to her superiors- which almost always got her fired. For years she avoided light territory for fear that the light would only highlight the injury she saw as a deformity. But it seemed that she had wandered the entire world and lost just about every job she could think of. So she was forced to enter the land of light. She felt as though everyone she passed was staring at her (even though that wasn't so). She came across a trading post, passing shop after shop. She eventually came across the Apothecary of a healer named Aiglentina- who noticed her injury, took her in and offered to help heal the poor young dragon. Velvet told Aiglentina how she was injured and how she was fired because of it. And the longer Velvet talked to her, the more comfortable she became. She had never experienced this sort of treatment from another dragon- not since before her accident anyway. It was very refreshing. Eventually, since velvet could not afford Aiglentina's help- she offered her a job at her Apothecary. And after she earned her keep, Aiglentina promised to help her with her eye. As the months went by, Velvet worked harder than before. But eventually, she earned her keep and became valued as not only a worker but also a friend. And Aiglentina had not forgotten her promise. One night, Aiglentina stayed at the Apothecary all night, slaving over the cauldron. The next morning she greeted velvet as she arrived for work "I always keep my promises". She said as she held out a small round object. "Here. Try it on." As Velvet looked closer, she saw that the object was a glass eye- a light eye in fact. "I know it won't match your other one, but to me, you are a light dragon. And you will always have a place in this clan." |

Dragon review by Amorah
Poor thing ): I'm sure the accident wasn't even her fault, and yet she was kicked out and wasn't compensated. Her story almost brought tears to my eyes, I'm glad she found a welcoming home on Light lands. I always imagined it to be a place of warmth and kindness. This sort of hit me deeply, because I'm sure even people irl are tormented for their appearances and their "disabilities" or deformities, and some people never see others for who they are.
You can never go wrong with red and gold. She looks so rich in color, making her look regal. I never like Lace because it sometimes made the Primary look messy, but it looks nice with the gold accent and it looks even better on her wings.
She truly does belong in your lair, every single one of your dragons are stunning and elegant.
