Long Form Poetry 		The unquestioned leader of the clan, Carnelian is an intelligent and erudite scholar who is especially fond of history, literature, and philosophy. He is unanimously acknowledged as the clan's cleverest dragon, capable of analyzing any problem from several angles and resolving it with his quicksilver intellect. As a hatchling, he was a voracious reader who amassed a knowledge of classical dragon lore that impressed scholars three times his age. He is fluent in several languages, some dead and others merely obscure, and is always ready with an appropriate and witty quotation from famous dragon writings and poems.

Far from being careless or absentminded, though, Carnelian is also a consummate gentleman who remains courteous and dignified in all his dealings. His warm, generous personality has won the loyalty of all his clanmates, and he has proved himself quite open to considering new ideas, theories, and inventions. For instance, ever since meeting his bonded guardians Crystalline and Nightfall, Carnelian recently took up the study of draconic martial arts and magical combat. He also codified laws for the clan, encouraged study of military strategy, and organized a simple yet effective defense plan to protect the clan against its foes. His understated, thoughtful leadership continues to bring continued prosperity and wisdom to the clan.
