Biography

ATLANTIC
Recovering Survivor
The Captain's March
Ruffletail Tadhop
Octoflyer Beak
Azure Lure

Once a vicious dragon from the Sea Of A Thousand Currents, Atlantic was swept away from his old life in a storm. He suffered several head injuries that scarred him and left him with amnesia.

Unconscious, he was found on the shores of the Windswept Plateau. Atlantic woke up in the medical bay, uncertain of where he was and with angry but unfamiliar memories. He fled the bay in a panic, and found himself on a small pillar with a pond.

Atlantic looked into the still water and was shocked and frightened by the scars over his face. He covered his head with a small animal skull that was nearby, hoping to remember everything but those rough scales.

Over time, he returned to the clan and bonded with Kelp, who looked after him and helped him recover from his physical injuries. Though he often learns of strange talents that he had forgotten, his amnesia still remains.

rework lore a bit: now helps oversee trade routes. most comfortable at sea, but still a ragged shell of his former self for better or for worse
"I wasn't aware that I knew Maren folksongs, either."

The day was warm and sunny, and gentle gusts from the sea flew in lazy patterns above the giant pillars of earth and bamboo. Today, the Reedcleft Ascents felt more like the Zephyr Steppes, and Atlantic had decided that it would be a good day as ever to practice flying.

[From the shell...]

The Fae perked up at the sound of a familiar lullaby. He followed the tune as best as he could, and came to a slow-moving creek set aside for Beastclan allies. On the opposite shore of the creek, a maren shark hunter was singing to a variety of Beastclan creatures in her native tongue.

[A song of the sea...]

Atlantic began to quietly hum along to the strange lullaby, and approached the group of creatures. He knew that he was a weaker dragon, and that he was putting himself at risk by approaching so many potentially dangerous warriors; but strangely enough, he already knew that as long as the maren was nearby, he was safe. By the time he reached the group, he was singing along with the maren note-for-note.

[Neither quiet nor calm...]

The maren had noticed his presence, and simply nodded to him. Together, the dragon and the Beastfolk finished singing the lullaby.

[Searching fiercly...]

The impromptu show received a round of applause from the surrounding familiars and a dragon that Atlantic didn't see at first.

"Beautiful singing, you two!" The skydancer adorned in violets exclaimed. Atlantic didn't know her name. "Little fae-- Atlantic, right?-- I didn't know you knew maren folksongs!"

He could only offer a shy smile, and he would've liked to stay and to speak with the maren to practice speaking in this new tongue. But the presence of another dragon frightened him, and Atlantic ducked into the stream and swam away to avoid further conversation.
Dark topics in the next blurb! Be warned!
The sea howled, rocking the boat wildly from side to side. On board, a Wildclaw and a Snapper held down a writhing Guardian.

"Cowards! Traitors to the Gods! Return to me my child!"

A malicious laugh echoed with the thunder. From above, a relatively tiny Fae, covered in wicked weaponry and a heavy leather coat, held a barnacle-encrusted egg haphazardly in his talons. A large golden chain around his neck bore one word: ATLANTIC.

"Sorry, ma'am, but business is business. The marenfolk are expecting their next delivery."

The Guardian mother hissed again, and attempted to lunge forward. The Snapper positioned a heavy foot her back, threatening to crush her. The two dragons looked towards the Fae, eyes asking for instructions. Atlantic narrowed his eyes, as though all three dragons were vermin to him.

"Anchor her, but do not throw her overboard. We're nearing the rendezvous point, and she's come so far to see what will happen to her precious egg."

Lightning revealed the wicked smiles on the pirates' faces, and the Guardian shrieked out in pain as her limbs and wings were smashed and ravaged beyond healing. Atlantic dropped from his perch, waving the egg in front of its mother's face.

"Do you know what marenfolk do with eggs? The ones they do not raise for their armies and test subjects? These eggs are used in cooking! I hear they're quite delectable, actually. They're dishes only for the most important of marenfolk."

The Guardian, tears of heartache and agony racing down her face, cried out towards Atlantic, begging, pleading, bargaining for the life of the unborn hatchling. He let her scream until her voice was hoarse from the salty air, and the only noise was the howling rain.

Then, Atlantic began to sing towards the sea, calling out towards his marenfolk allies...
