Once upon a time he had been a different dragon, and had had a different name. It's hard to remember about those moments in the past, for they are blurred, unfocused and tangled up on themselves. Those glimpses of lazy sunny afternoons and laughter tell him he had a different personality, once.

A fierce Emperor, a battle cry, a strong wail and then the Darkness. The Darkness changed and shaped him, rewired his thoughts and, oddly, enlightened him far more than his eyes ever had. Never to talk again, but to develop telepathy. Never to cry again, but becoming an empath. Words whispered by those who respected him for his deeds carved themselves in the deepest crevices of his mind, like fresh water that soothed him.

A scholar, a librarian, a Sage. He would not be useful in battle anymore, no. Instead, he carries knowledge within him, a vast expanse of information that is worth its weight in gold and diamond, in the best silks and gemstones. Knowledge that, in good hands, can cut deeper than any claw will ever do.
