The Igneous was born, there was some… confusion, shall we say, as to who her parents were. No, it wasn’t any of the typical reasons for not knowing one’s own parents, such as being orphaned. It was simply because there were so many hatchlings, many parents lost track of which ones were theirs. But it didn’t particularly matter, since everyone in the band of merchants took care of the young ones.
As she grew, it became clear that she was a smart dragon. Her persuasive tongue sealed many deals in the clan’s travels. If a dragon couldn’t sell an item in their shop, she would come over for the day, trying to get another dragon to buy it off the seller. Most of the time, she succeeded.
Her clan was very proud of her. Every single dragon in the clan knew her and respected her, despite her young age. They felt the need to repay all she had done for the group. So, on a sunny, cheerful day, they threw her a surprise party. Treasure was given to her in the sackfuls, and she was told by her clanmates to pursue her dreams.
To be honest, at the time, she didn’t have a dream. All she had was a lot, a lot, of treasure on her hands. She decided to try to discover what her dream was.
She apprenticed under many different trades. She tried being a jeweler (finding the precious jewels was too boring), a blacksmith (she couldn’t even lift the hammer!), a poet (all the hidden meaning were annoying to Igneous--just get to the point!), and many other unfitting jobs. In her many travels, she once rested at a Light clan, one called the Warren.
The alpha, Llewellyn, seemed especially interested in her. He was curious to ask what a small Fae with no proficiency in fighting was doing, wandering Sornieth so recklessly. She told him her tale, seeing no issue with it.
Afterwards, he smiled. Then he said words that had been the least she had been expecting. “I’ve been looking for a dragon like you.”
When asked what he meant, he replied simply, “You said that you were persuasive enough to once sell a dragon a Satin Mouse for over fifty thousand treasure. You were brave to leave your clan, since they had been your family for all that time. You are straightforward. You would be an amazing diplomat, honestly. If you wouldn’t mind, I’d like you to sit in on my next meeting. I’d appreciate your presence.”
After that, one thing lead to another, and Igneous found herself as Beta of the Warren. If asked how she got there, she’ll simply smile and say, “Trust me, I’ve been asking myself the same question..

Description

Igneous has two ways of speaking; one is straight-forward and to the point, but the other one is silky and smooth, like the scales on a snake. When she is annoyed or done with courtesy, she’ll speak to whatever dragon has angered her with words straight from her heart. You can tell when she’s going to start talking like this because her eyes narrow and she pulls her frills against her head.
The other one, however, charms every single dragon. Her eyes become vibrant with life and energy and she’ll smile continuously. Her words are carefully chosen, designed perfectly to persuade the dragon she is talking to into doing something.
These two faces have earned her the nickname Enigmatic Igneous, since no one knows which one is the real Igneous, or if either of them are. Dragons from all over Sornieth know what a great diplomat she is with those two very different tongues. Llewellyn and Oliana trust in her completely, and not because Igneous talked them into it.
Though, like most diplomats, she has been labeled as untrustworthy, she actually is an extremely honest dragon. She never speaks a lie when trying to convince someone of something. She’ll answer questions with respectable candor, though this quality of hers is often overlooked.
Any other dragon would have collapsed under all of the responsibilities, but Igneous works well under pressure. In fact, she probably works even better while under it. Her mate is the only dragon that she feels comfortable venting to, worried that if she complained to someone else, it would become a scandal of sorts for her.
With all her traits perfect for being a politician, most would believe that she would be unable to keep up with the dragons in the clan and spend time with her mate. But they are wrong. She loves her mate more than any other dragon, and always takes time to go out and spend time with her clanmates.
