Antioch

Antioch was not always a Bogsneak. While the breed does occur naturally, most Bogsneaks, in the early days of their existence, were created.

Aoithan's family was rich and powerful, and they sought out a suitable wife for their son. Upon finding a young Imperial princess, they sought to transform her into a Bogsneak so that the breed could live on. But she was not interested in changing her form, so the Aoithan's mother began another search.

Antioch was not of royal birth. She humbly served in the kingdom, a young Fae who no one took much notice of. She had held affections for the Bogsneak prince, but refused to reveal them due to his impending marriage. When word got out that the queen was looking for a new wife for Aoithan, Antioch dressed in her best frocks in the hope of impressing the queen.

When Aoithan saw her, it was love at first sight. He demanded that she be transformed immediately. His mother and father were furious. How dare a Plentiful dragon of no royal birth approach the throne! But Aoithan was insistent. Antioch, though she loved her delicate form, agreed to be transformed.

There was a wedding, and then Aoithan took his bride to the Shrieking Wilds, where they were able to exist together as husband and wife. Bogsneaks do not like the company of their own kind, but the two young lovers were able to stick together through thick and thin and share their territory.

When a Water clan entered the Wilds on their way to the Behemoth, looking for a spiritual center, they convinced the two Bogsneaks to join them, as they knew the Wilds better than any dragon. They agreed, and so joined Clan Effort.
