A Shadow egg plucked from his nest and dropped in the Scarred Wastelands, he was found by the Plaguebringer's worshippers and brought to her to decide his fate. Intrigued at the opportunity, she incubated him within the Wyrmwound itself and a few days later, a monstrosity emerged. Cooing over her new creation, a repulsive and diseased looking Bogsneak child of mottled greens and bloody red cracks, she named him Lich and unleashed him upon the world.

Despite his warmongering upbringing and grotesque appearance, the child was still an outsider and found himself longing for more than what his adopted Mother and Flight obtained. He could never quite put his claw on it... but the desire to find another like himself was strong. For despite being a creature of living death, he was unique among his cohorts.. and ever so lonely.

The Filthy One observed his wistful nature with displeasure, and, unable to make him into the prime warrior of death and disease she had long hoped for, banished him to the Wandering Contagion. At least there he'd perhaps spread his scourge to her neighbors.

Instead of wandering to his ancesteral home of the Tangled Wood, he ventured west - toward the bright peaks of the Starfall Isles. He smelled something there... distant but familiar. And on the edge of his Mother's domain, where life again flourished with the magic of the Arcanist in the Starwood Strand, he spotted an egg. Small and glowing green - the hallmark of Plague progeny...
