It's hard to feel as though you're not being watched in a place full of so much life, but perhaps your suspicions are well-founded if you've come under the intense gaze of a no-nonsense Wildclaw named Tirumala.
Vanadev often teases that he's a man of few words, but it would be hard to assume otherwise as he silently passes through his clan-mates, giving only nods of his head as greeting. It's hard for some to understand just how he came together with someone so...flamboyant...but make no mistake that Tirumala is fiercely protective of his precious mate, and would do anything to keep him safe and happy. Due to this, he often accompanies him on his journeys to meet with black market dealers. He isn't fond of them, or their business, but he says nothing. As long as it makes Vanadev happy, he is content. Due to this closeness, it's only the Imperial who knows of the Wildclaw's true origins and history. All that is known is that he was the leader of his own clan--challenged by a subordinate who then promptly exiled him for unknown reasons. Being that this is an extremely sensitive topic--and still a very sore spot for him--the clan knows not to speak of it. He simply trails the borders of the clan in silent vigil, very rarely mumbling something to himself. It turns out that he is counting his steps, an obsessive tendency that seemed to have cropped up as soon as he began his patrols. No one dares to counsel him through it--though a familiar companion, Renshaw, often joins him to offer some type of comfort. Most of the time, it seems to actually help. Vanadev worries that someday, he may try to regain his honor--but Tirumala only smiles indulgently at these worries and states gruffly, "my heart, my honor, and myself belong only to you and the clan now." Then, he'll go on not talking for some time again--the two of them quite content with this exchange.  Art by Volkaija |
