Awapuhi

A dragon who had only known of the water his whole life, one day he decided to venture up. He was astounded by the beauty of the land and the sky and the creatures that had roamed above him for so long. He quickly swam to the shore and there he learned that the things he thought so beautiful did not think him so.
Beasts and dragons alike fled from him, thinking he was a monster emerging from the depths to devour them. He worried that dragons would always think of him as such, but as he got farther from the sea, his home, the dragons opinions changed. Soon he was taken in by a clan living in the lava flow. They believed him to be the embodyment of the stones that they mined. The dragons practically worshiped him, thinking he would bring them luck. He was showered with gifts of gold and jewels. He was taught many trades, but his favorite was the creating of tapestries.
One season, the mine did not produce the many stones that it had been before. The dragons blamed this on him and threw him out, stripping him of all physical worth he carried.


He wandered for many months, looking for another place to call home- the place of his birth was long out his thoughts by then. Eventually he found a glowing place filled with light. The dragons there accepted him quickly and allowed him to work on his tapestries. They soon realized he was incredibly skilled and convinced him to sell these.
Dragons began to come from all around to buy these. He was soon rich, but did not know what to do with his treasure. So he gave it out to any dragon who asked. The clan he was staying with resented him for this, wishing to keep his wealth in the clan, and so kicked him out.
This time he had enough renoun and wealth from his tapestries to keep him from wandering aimlessly. Clans from all around rushed to aid him in his journey to a new place.
Finally, after traveling for many years now, he found a small clan in the labyrinth where he settled down.

Awaphui is an incredibly kind dragon. He gives out treasure and gems to any he comes across and will not hesitate to help dragons in need further. In fact, he will still make small journeys out from his new home to give out wealth to dragons of all kinds.
Living here has provided the relaxation that he needed to work on his tapestries. Art critics say these are, in fact, his best pieces yet. He has quite a long waiting list of those who request a tapestry to be made, though most commission them out of respect.
He has brought in much wealth for his new clan, allowing them to upgrade their living standards.
He has made quite a few friends in the clan. Every dragon- even those who do not ask- has received a tapestry that is unique for them.
