Especially when SHE'S awake and is ready to, to," He paused for a moment, "tear you to shreds with no mercy whatsoever." The Tengu Caller did something that Dalthor didn't expect. Is it... weeping? It looked at Dalthor with its dark, but wet eyes as it forced itself to stand up and face the looming dragon beside it. "Please..." The Tengu Caller croaked. "Please just... destroy me maister. I-I'm losing it..." It sobbed. Dalthor looked at the beastclan quizzically. "Losing it ? What are you talking about ?" He asked. "My clan is dead." It said miserably. "All of them, defeated by the other hostile beastclans. Now I wander aimlessly, having no one beside me and having no purpose to live I decided to seek death so I can finally join my fallen clanmates." "If you do seek death, then why not use your own scythe ?" Dalthor asked. "We Tengu Callers can't use our scythe to kill ourselves." It replied, as if stating the obvious. "So please maister, end my life so I can join my clanmates in the Sky Forest. Please !" Dalthor was stunned. Of all the beastclans that he fought and defeated for the glory of his clan leaders, this is one who is not just hostile, but someone who is seeking death. He could just end it and finish him quick, but why is he against it all of a sudden? He looked at the scared and lost creature beside him, eyes closed and wishing that his life will end soon now that it was he who had found it and threatened to end its life. No, he wouldn't do it. He might killed many hostile beastclans here and there, but he wouldn't do that to a non-hostile beastclan. And besides, he thought, it might be useful and may be powerful if healed. "No." Dalthor declared. "I wouldn't do that to a helpless creature like you. I would like to apologize for my rude behavior a while ago, but I was simply doing my duty. But I will not kill you because you said so, as I am not ruthless compared to Her." He shivered at mentioning his clan leader, the ruthless Nyra. "B-but maister-" The Tengu was about to protest when Dalthor continued. "Instead, I will spare you. On one condition." He smiled sweetly at the Tengu, who was staring at him questionably. "You wish to kill yourself because you have no clan and no purpose in life ? Well consider my offer, I will welcome you into our clan with open talons, and I want you to be my partner and friend. What do you say ?" The Tengu Caller looked at the Imperial in shock. It didn't expect such kindness from him at all ! It expected death and retribution, not generosity and a new life. "I-I would be happy to maister." It said meekly, "But I won't be that much help. I might-" "Nonsense ! Now come, we must get you healed !" Dalthor smiled and scooped up the frail creature with his talons before flying away to his clan to patch his newfound friend up and be healed. ________________________________________ |
