H I S T O R Y

______ Airkin had been lost from his nest before he had hatched. It started with terrible storm that destroyed his family's lair. During the storm his egg had somehow ended up in a small river, where he then floated to a small closed off area in the forest.

______ Airkin hatched days later. Rather than parents the first face he saw was that of a female wildclaw, peering into the cracked shell at him. As he finished breaking out of the shell, he starred up at the dragon that as watching him. He let out a small squeal as the dragon picked him up.

______ Time passed quickly and Airkin grew into a nice adolescent wildclaw. He never knew who his true parents were, coming instead to know Windkin as a mother figure. When she decided to go into the plague filled wasteland he quickly had agreed to come, wanting to stay with her.

______ Airkin was content with Windkin's protectiveness. He was happy to be close to her and was ecstatic about being able to learn how to fight. She had been teaching him a few things as they traveled, but she told him that he would learn much more when they reached their destination.

______ When they finally reached the lair of the great fighter and his son, Airkin practically collapsed outside the cave from exhaustion. It had been a long and hard journey, Windkin had barely ever allowed him to stop moving except for a few hours at night. Airkin stood up, holding himself with a posture that showed he was proud, as two dark coatls approached them.

______ Airkin barely paid attention to the conversation between the older male and Windkin, he was more interested in the younger of the two males, more close in age to himself. But he was was perfectly content to follow them when he was told to.

______ They entered a small rock clearing and Airkin glanced at Windkin, wondering what they were supposed to do. It didn't take long to understand when the smaller of the two males lunged at him. They expect us to be able to fight them he thought.

______ Luckily during his ignoring the conversation before, when he had been studying the dragon that was attacking him, he had seen a small scar on the dragons right front arm and noticed the way he attacked. He seems to be guarding that part of his arm he thought.

______ Just as the coatl lunged again, Airkin threw himself forward, latching onto the dragons arm. He heard the other dragon growl in pain and tried tearing him from his arm, but Airkin had pinned him and had one set of claws against the dragons neck. He did not move until he heard the other dragon speak. "Enough. This fight is over."

______ Airkin jumped back away from the young coatl he had been on and simply sat back on his haunches as he watched his opponent get up. He listened as the other dragon had agreed to take them on as students, before he spoke up and asked "So can we rest now?"

______ Xenolith replied softly. "Yes,you may indeed rest now."
