-always experimenting in the search for new desserts
-loves making fancy looking cakes and pastries that actually taste good
-loathes finding the fanciest looking dessert ever, only to discover it's all dry inside or lacking flavour

Taste before beauty is always Shiv's motto in the kitchen. He knows the great secret of cooking: sometimes things that taste amazing just cannot help looking like a plate of slop. As a pastry chef he is rarely faced with that particular challenge but it's not uncommon to see his desserts less than perfectly polished if a slight structural issue means they'll taste better.
