    Florin manages the clan's finances, and does an excellent job of it - for the most part. A intelligent and numerate dragon, he finds crunching the numbers a breeze and is completely trusted by Gemini and Artemis. Thanks to his help, The Estate's economy is booming and the islanders rarely have any money troubles. Florin certainly doesn't, anyway...

    Very, very few dragons know that Almond, Florin's mate, lives a secret life as a pirate. Many assume she is a housewife, and that her trips off the island are to visit family in the Southern Icefield. Obviously, none of this is true, and it just so happens that Almond brings home much more treasure than her partner. All of these ill-gotten gains are kept off the books, of course - how on Sornieth is Florin supposed to record the income earned from robbing a merchant ship?

    Whilst he doesn't like his mate's criminal activity, Florin tolerates it out of devotion to her. He would much rather that she had a regular job like everyone else. Nevertheless, he realised that he could use some of the money for good - by donating large sums to charity. Naturally, all of this takes place under fake names. Florin's favourite donation was the one he made towards building a new school at The Estate. He knew that Kalani, the teacher, was thrilled by it. Whenever he passes by and sees lessons taking place, he smiles to himself.
