Biography

The Luna Clan

Born without the ability to speak, Quicksilver has learned to let her actions speak for her. Often to the point she would ignore well meang warnings of danger from her clan mates. In order to prove she could be of use to her birth clan, she apprenticed herself to their Shaman so she could learn the healing arts.

One winter, a plague ran rampent through her clan. Dragons were dying even under the experienced care of her Master. Her master told her of a possible cure, but one that was to dangerous to reach. The pollen of a rare flower, one that grows only in the lands surrounded by The Twisting Cresendo. For weeks, Quicksilver, the other apprentices and their master worked hard, prolonging the life of the sick so they could find a cure. It was only when her younger brother, just barely days old, died in her arms that Quicksilver decided to risk the eternal storm.

It only took her a week to reach the edge of the maelstrom. She skirted the worst of the winds and rain. Keeping a constant look out for the rare flowers. After two days of searching, she finally found a cluster of them high upon a cliff face. Feeling it too dangerous to use her wings, she began the slow climb up to the ledge where the flowers grew. After hours of painstakingly slow progress, she finally reached her goal. She quickly grabbed as many flowers as she could and began the slow decent down, hoping her bundle had enough pollen to cure her clan.

However, the Windsinger was not about to let her claim her prize that easily. The winds howled off the cliff side, and tugged at her wings. Threatening to pull her off and into the storm. She held fast to the earth in her claws. Determined to make it home.

Her descent did not go unnoticed. Dotted along the cliff face were the homes of the Talonok Beastclan. They did not take kindly to the imperial climbing across their home and stealing from them. And so they attacked.

With both the winds and the wild beastclan coming at her, Quicksilver couldn't hold on to her perch any longer. She fell from the cliff and the winds of the storm ripped her away. She tumbled through the air like the Windsinger's plaything. Rain and winds buffetting her from all sides. She felt the crack of thunder in her chest, and her vision went bright with the flash of lightning that followed. After that, darkness.

She awoke much later in an unfamiliar cave with an unfamiliar dragon. As the stranger did not know sign language, the two had to communicate through writing. This was how she found out he had stumbled upon her dying clan. They told him of her quest to find a cure and requested him to search for her. When he found her, she was battered and broken, having been thrown a mile from the edge of the storm. He rushed her home so her clan could heal her. But by the time he got back, it was too late. Her clan had perished to the last.

Distraught by the news, Quicksilver ran away into the night. Consumed by grief, she was unable to hear the dragon calling after her. She ran for hours, only stopping when exhaustion finally overtook her.

When she awoke, it was not the sun that shone in her vision, but the flickering lightning running across her body. She watched with awe as the sparks danced across her feathers, arching back and forth across her wings. Once she was able to pull her eyes away from this spectacle, she saw that her once dark scales had turned the color of a stormy sky. Recalling the blinding flash that had knocked her unconscious, she concluded this is what had changed her appearance.

She closed her eyes, overwhelmed by the loss of her clan and the change in her appearance. But this was not the only surprise in store for her. As her eyes shut, her vision exploded with color, rivers of energy crossing the earth, faint auras of living beings in the distance, and all around her, the crackle of magic. The shock caused her to open her eyes and the colors faded. Curiosity got the better of her and she shut her eyes once more. The colors sprang to life in her vision again. This time, she concentrated, feeling the ebb and flow of the magic around her. The larger rivers she realized were the magical ley lines of the world. Eleven in total. Each connected to and representing a dragon deity. From those larger ley lines, thousands of smaller ones branched out. These sent energy and magic off into the world, allowing the dragons to tap into the magic of their parent deity. She could feel the Windsinger's magic calling out to her, screaming to be tapped into. She ignored it for now, instead focusing on a slowly fading aura close by. She left her resting spot and followed it to its source. She found a Zalis, its aura losing color as the life slowly left its body. Feeling an overwhelming urge to help the poor creature, Quicksilver closed her eyes and tapped into the Windsinger's magic that had called to her so strongly. With strength of will, she channeled that magic into a shaman healing spell she knew. And with all her remaining energy, she sent it towards the Zalis.

She closed her eyes and watched its aura. Slowly, it began to glow brighter, and the color began to return to it. She stayed by the Zalis's side until the animal was able to move on its own. To her surprise, it did not leave her side. Instead it perched on her back and began to preen the fur on the back of her neck. Not even the crackling lightning on her scales could deter it.

Realizing what her new found powers allowed her to do, Quicksilver decided to fully devote herself to the shaman arts. Helping dragons and beasts alike, to make up for the clan mates she could not save.

Quicksilver and her Zalis had been traveling together for many moons. They were well known in the clans around the Windswept Plateau. She healed the sick and injured. And in doing so, she found many friends among the dragon clans. However, the one thing she wanted most, she could not find. A home. Quicksilver decided she needed to travel outside of the Windsinger's domain. She thought perhaps a clan somewhere else in Sonerith was in need of a shaman.

It was this decision that lead her into the Scarred Wasteland. Though she was not as welcome as she thought in the Plaguebringer's domain. The dragons in these lands did not want to be cured of their diseases, and the Shamans there practiced black magic. As she wandered the edge of the scarred wasteland, she ran across Emerald. She was being tortured by two wildclaws. As she formulated a plan to rescue the victim,
Malachite and Goldoak showed up behind her. With their help, she was able to save Emerald. The four dragons joined up together and eventually found their way to the Viridian Labyrinth, where the Luna clan welcomed them home.
