Dissonance's Mansion: Son, "Prince", Warrior

_{Sanctus spent his childhood in a compound with his mother, under the belief he was a prince, as his father claimed to be king.

It wasn’t until there was a mutiny and the compound where all his father’s partners and children were was razed that he had any inkling of the truth - and it wasn’t until Euphorium had managed to find a safe place for them both that he was told what the situation really had been, and they’d kept up with the lie because it was the safest route they could see.

Once he learned he was really the child of a marauding warlord, and the other women he’d grown up with were really captives, and that his mother technically was as well, he was shattered, broken by the reality that the man he idolized took what he wanted by force, rather than right.

He clung to the knowledge he had a twin somewhere out there who had been stolen away shortly after birth. Threw everything into training to become strong enough to go out and search for his brother, himself. To get revenge, anything really -

only for his brother to later be guided home by a complete stranger. For him to learn his brother had been in an even worse scenario since mere days after his birth.

Sanctus doesn’t know what to do with himself anymore. He doesn’t even know what he wants. He wanted revenge, but there was nobody left to take revenge on. He wanted to make things right, but found it impossible. That nothing was black and white.

He felt his entire life had been lived for nothing.}

The firstborn son of both Euphorium and Arslan.

Sanctus inherited his father's breed, in spite of the odds, provoking much excitement and fanfare amongst the compound.

Euphorium is utterly devoted to him, and is a very protective and cautious mother - particularly since their second born, Vargen, was stolen from his crib beside them one quiet night.

Sanctus is aware he has a twin brother, though he has absolutely no memory of the skydancer.

Though he was a self-centred boy, he could read his mother better than most others, and saw how much they hurt. He hoped to one day grow strong enough to find his twin and bring him home, under the impression they were both princes who deserved to live in luxury.

He received martial training from his father, becoming decent in the art of the blade in the hopes of achieving his goal.

However, his confidence and understanding of his life and situation were shattered when a mutiny arose amongst Arslan's men.

For all the months he'd trained, he couldn't protect the harem he saw as his family. He was forced to turn and flee with his mother, leaving the rest of the group behind.

Though he wished desperately to find his father, he didn't protest when Euphorium insisted on finding a safe place, and followed them to Dissonance's mansion.

For a time he locked himself away, still reeling from all that had befallen the compound, but in time, he began training with the border guards employed by Dissonance.

He would be sure to be ready for anything by the time he went looking for his twin brother - and his father as well.}
