A Skydancer grounded, Ceilya was one of the first chemically-made Bogsneaks. In the lab, with Ether, the cauldron overturned on top of her, melting her delicate features and shifting her bones to drag across the ground. It was excruciating, untested and unprecedented, Ether was shocked she lived at all.

No one in the clan had ever seen a Bogsneak. No one knew what she was - other than just... herself. But... different. She suffered for months, healing and adjusting, learning what her new body did. As there was no safety procedures - of course, it had been a toxic unbalanced boiling mixture dumped on her, how were they to know? - Ceilya was not made into a perfect Bogsneak.

She's incapable of flight, wings too fused together, burned and melted at the seams. The most she can do with them is flap them to fan herself off. She's also infertile, no chance of conceiving little drakes of her own. Which is, actually, quite fine by her - she was never very motherly in the first place.

Almost a year after Ceilya's accident, another Bogsneak came in search of refuge, and his name was Achaled. The clan was shocked - another like Ceilya? How could this be? Wasn't she a one-in-a-million accident? Achaled informed them no, she was of a breed. A breed Achaled belonged to as well. There were more like her, and like him, and he would teach her about what she'd become. He gave her a new name, in style of the Bogsneak naming conventions - Chaliep.

These days, she's happy in her own skin.
