Slate is a great warrior, worn and taught by war and determination. Despite her dominantly intimidating nature, she has a flourishing soft-spot for those close to her. To newcomers, she is stern and stubborn. She prides herself in her past and her loyalty to The Arcanist. When she isn't in combat, she spends her time personally skinning and preserving small deceased creatures she comes across. Her indulgence in taxidermy is what inspired her son, Ayano, to pick up the hobby, too. Though Slate often prefers to be alone, she appreciates the short times that they bond due to their otherwise differentiating interests.
It's spoken among the lair that Slate was born from the underlying wrath of a war God, and many members have tried to pry an answer from her... Alas, she prefers to leave her origins unsaid.

The Quietus
“The Quietus” refers to a quite large stretch of land, and the dragons that inhabit it. The terrain seems near flat from an elevated view— but, with closer inspection, the complexity of the land is revealed. Ravines lace the ground, each so deep and large that the walls almost appear to be mountains.

At the forefront of The Quietus is a very large , aged, marble structure, surrounded by water so crystal clear that it hides how deep it treads, and makes the fish swimming inside almost appear to be floating. The building’s exterior walls crumble and crack, revealing the intricate building process of each wall or pillar. Delicate runes of an ancient language are carved into the face of the structure. Curiously, each dragon that passes by can read the words, despite the characters being from an unknown language. “Quiet home”, they read..
