 The bone pierced the oozing skin as Kokaku raised herself from the rotting ground upon which she had lain so peacefully before. Never ending wounds coursed over her deteriorated flesh leaking strange liquids from the very core of her being. Tossed aside by her parents Kokaku was used to rejection, but the plague did not reject her. It had extended its loving, corrupting tendrils wrapping around her frail body and changing her from the inside out. Her wings that were once a vibrant blue now had all of their color bleached out, the muscle holding the membrane in place had been spotted and distorted. Her tail was perpetually bleeding and her limbs had been nearly entire been converted. Made better. Her face was the greatest change of all. Where here lovely golden ridgeback face had once been a massive ivory beak took its place, her skull had been warped into hundreds of horns and spires. But she felt no more pain. The ache that had wreaked her body when she had sobbed herself to sleep was now gone. Replacing it was cold and hard love for the land that had perfected her. She prowled the edges of the plaguelands for years, scouring the edges for dragons to fall victim to the plague's never ending spread. She would swoop from above and force them to the ground as they struggled against her grip. Slowly the mire would take them like it took her and make the beautiful just like she was. One such dragon though acted differently than those before him. As she swooped down she saw that he was already one with the plague. And what perfection he was indeed. His every pore leaked with destruction. He was perfected as though by the Mother herself. She tried to pull away, intrigued yet shocked by the vision before her. But before she could he latched onto her legs and pulled her down, a reverse to the usual workings of her world. "Finally, the vulture reveals herself" His voice was deep and booming ancient as it was strong. "I have come to collect you for my clan, i have heard of your love and dedication to the Mother and for that i could use you" Kokaku could barely speak anymore after years on her own but in a raspy rough voice she asked her first question in years. "Who are you?" His ancient face folded into a smile. "I am Thorn, created by the Plague Mother herself" To one such as this, she could refuse no request. "I will come with you then, if one such as you needs my help i cannot refuse"
