He’d finally found it!

Espresso’s eyes widened. He brought his nose down to the plant and flickered his forked tongue, exploring the soil with ardent affection. The scents here were so strong! Earthy and moist, and flavored by the trees. Something about this particular soil was striking. It was exactly what he’d been searching for so long. No wonder the coffee plants were so flawless!

He hummed with excitement as he continued to explore, flicking his tongue again and again. He moved along the ground until he came to the root of a particularly pungent plant. He ran his nose up it’s length, taking particular interest in the ripe, plump coffee cherries.

They were perfect. He could only imagine the flavor.

Espresso began to greedily pile the berries into his bag. He’d need to sample them. He’d need to taste them fully brewed and roasted. Only then would he know for sure.

Maybe his traveling days were over. Maybe he’d found something too good to move on from.
