Pasithea

Though Pasithea and her mate, Hypnos, were originally aligned with the Icewarden, an incident in their past resulted in their exile. As a result, the pair migrated and eventually settled in the Tangled Wood. Shadowlings are largely reclusive misfits and thought nothing of the two wandering skydancers, in part due to the dark coloration of their feathers which allowed them to camouflage effectively among the trees and luminescent flora. Here they made a new nest and began to grow strong again, even officially aligning themselves with the Shadowbinder and taking on a new clan name of her choosing: Clan Nyx.

Of course, as only two dragons they were not much of a clan. They were generally accepted but ignored by the shadowling community at large, having yet to make much of an impact or branch out. Growing up in an ice-oriented clan had instilled in them a stoicism that was difficult to thaw, and the boisterous and playful nature of many shadowlings often repelled Pasithea and Hypnos. Pasithea in particular was very stern and stiff, and was not a social animal by any means.

It was entirely by chance, then, that the pair came across their first clanmates. Sombra and Luna, a mated pair themselves, had recently left their old clan in Luna's homeland, the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Together they had traveled to the Tangled Wood where Sombra had assured her they would be welcome, and it so happened that the spot Sombra recalled from his childhood, where his original clan once had lived, was the spot that Pasithea and Hypnos had now claimed for themselves. After a brief squabble between Sombra and Pasithea, Hypnos and Luna stepped in as peacekeepers, and it was agreed that the spiral pair could stay in Pasithea's territory if they would agree to join her clan. Tensions ran high between the pairs for several days before they began to adapt to one another and grow closer, with mutual respect growing between them.

Not long after, a nomad wandered into the territory and was tentatively welcomed by Hypnos and Pasithea, who saw no reason to turn away a single dragon simply passing by, even if he towered over the lot of them. Slick, as he was called, had been aligned with the light flight at one time, yet he claimed to have grown bored of the Sunbeam Ruins and left to explore the world. He was a collector by nature and gambler by trade, often as a means of acquiring the trinkets he sought. After a brief stay in the Tangled Wood he found that the fun-loving tricksters of the forest were quite a delight to gamble with, as he was no longer the only one cheating at every game, thus adding an element of risk and surprise. More importantly, he became rather taken with Sombra and Luna, and the pair quickly bonded with Slick and convinced him to stay. Thus the clan had acquired their fifth member.

Slick and his spiral mates worked wonders chipping away at the icy exteriors of Pasithea and Hypnos and branching out to other clans in the area. Word of the clan began to spread, slowly but surely. Dragons approached or were approached as potential members as time marched steadfastly along. And so, Pasithea and Hypnos found themselves at the helm of an increasingly powerful clan with a secure territory and a strange sort of camaraderie. For the first time since their exile, they felt at home.


Pasithea is a very serious, stoic, and oftentimes grouchy matriarch. She is not fond of games or jokes, which has been a source of constant irritation for her since she and her mate have settled in the Tangled Wood. Still, she cares deeply for Hypnos and for her clanmates; once a dragon has earned her loyalty, they will have that loyalty nigh-indefinitely. She is a workaholic who tends to wear herself out doing whatever she can for her clan, and often she has difficulty delegating tasks to other clan members. Hypnos frequently must convince her to rest and relax a bit, as she simply will not do so without prompting.

Her truest passion has always been for textile work - both creating her own materials when feasible, and crafting them into beautiful garments, tapestries, and whatever else was needed or wanted. Now that she's settled safely and is able to establish regular trade thanks to the resources and stability of her clan, she's happier than ever to be honing her craft once more. She has spent many a sleepless night creating something wondrous for her clan to sell or as a gift for clanmates, and she truly couldn't be more fulfilled by getting the chance to freely indulge in this passion without external obligations.
