Unload the wagons here, then set up the biggest tent on the left side of the clearing ahead. I know the center looks fine, but the entire right side is a bog and we don't want to fall into it!

Vespryn ran away to join Whiskerwing's circus when he was still a small (and emotionally battered) hatchling. In his haste to escape his father, he lucked into the safest place he could possibly have found.

As his confidence grew, so too did his utter denial of his heritage, despite having come from an affluent clan. Whiskerwing watched him blossom from awkward young Pearlcatcher into an organized, indispensable member of her Clan. When it became obvious that he could neither forget nor forgive his past -- even to the point of trying to destroy his pearl -- she quietly gifted him a scroll of transformation.

The change in shape also transformed his personality, freeing him from the memories that so plagued him. His wit and attention to detail quickly made him one of the most popular drakes in the lair, but his deepest affection is reserved for Whiskerwing alone.

Only she and he know that he also possesses the power to touch a Pearlcatcher's pearl and relive the memories contained within, a power his father would do anything to steal from him.
