Both from unremarkable and mostly unknown origin, Chufa the Tundra and Faralysa the Fae built their nest in the Shifting Expanse with a modest goal of simply making a living in the harsh environment for themselves and their future children. As time went by, days turned to years. They expanded their clan by hiring, adopting and breeding more dragons, digging further and deeper into the soil in efforts to expand their lair & influence. The growth of their clan had exceeded their initial expectations before long, and their modest ideals were quickly replaced with new, far more ambitious goals: To become a powerhouse of technology, science and manufacturing. They have moved from their initial lair a few times by now and are currently settled in The Lightning Farm. Close to everything, yet far away from everything to not be disturbed by other the dragon clans. And perfect for leeching a bit of extra power undetected if the need arises. They employ a myriad of specialists now, and have a lot of outsourced projects as well. Due to the high demand of workers, they employ some dragons and skilled beastclans under a single banner.

That banner has become to be known as Stormworks Union.

Chufa the Tundra is an absent minded dragon, easily distracted and oft lost in his own thoughts. All the while in conversations, he can talk to hours on end and often gives out a very warm, humorous, open-minded personality. At times, it is hard to believe he takes anything seriously as he constantly views things in a very humorous and almost over-the-top optimistic light, and to top it all off he is also capable of 'extreme levels' of laziness, as Faralysa puts it. He does, however, give important matters quite a bit of thought and has respectable amounts of wisdom and insight, he simply chooses not to stress about things. At least visibly. He has an impressive appetite and absolutely loves sweet fruits and berries. His ultimate treat is the Engineered Superberry! Chufa is usually seen as the laid-back head of the Stormworks Union and as such employees have little trouble approaching him with their woes and suggestions. His calm, aloof personality has serious side too, one which he shows when he is in the field of conflict, in an argument that has turned sour, or when an employee has somehow managed to anger him (a rare occurrence!). He becomes very pragmatic, cold and calculated, and merciless with disciplinary actions or even termination (meaning contracts, of course)! This cool hides an almost buried characteristic, which shows itself in times of combat. Chufa has proven to be capable of extreme, sudden ruthlessness, which is often accompanied by chuckles and roars as he electrocutes, bites and taunts his adversaries. Once the conflict is over, he just about immediately flips back into his usual happy, carefree personality. Some have described this sudden switching of character as "very unnerving". Despite this, he is the type to avoid unnecessary combat and arguments whenever it is possible and will go to great lengths to avoid combat, willing to ridicule even himself as well if it means stopping bad situations turning into even worse situations. Provoked sufficiently, though, and he displays that he is, in fact, The Patriarch.

Chufa is capable of fluently understanding the visual display of emotions portrayed by the Fae dragons, thanks to his deep relationship with Faralysa. Discussions with Fae comes as natural to him as conversing with any other dragon breed, which has made the employment of Fae particularly smooth.

Chufa is loyal to the core for Faralysa, and he oft makes no decisions without consulting with his consort first, trusting deeply in her judgement. This has made him somewhat reliant in her consultations and insight, as he tends to sometimes leave even the most rudimentary decision making up to Faralysa's opinion on the matter, which can infuriate the ever-busy Fae.

Chufa is well liked in his own Clan and the employees of the Stormworks Union considers him more of a "everbody's best pal" than a true, ruling Patriarch or a boss, emphasized by his aloof personality. Still, his commands and guidance, should he actually give any, are usually followed to the letter. Chufa has no problems remembering dragons in his own clan without resorting to his olfactory memory, but most others he has to be reminded of. Sometimes, he uses samples of scents he has collected prior to engagements (friendly or otherwise) to get his thoughts in order, and to also avoid the somewhat awkward need to huff the scents of other dragons and beastclan members upon meeting, even if some of them are quite aware of Tundra dragon's memory restrictions.

Due to his difficult task of maintaining his body temperature in the arid regions of the Shifting Expanse during daytime (the cold nights being rather comfortable!), Chufa has used various methods of self-cooling over the years. Currently, after testing many, many apparatus and their prototypes, the Head of Science of the clan, Ninimirizipi has provided him with a "final" solution. The Compact Cooling Pack & Implants MK-IV is a small 'undersuit' that has a few wires attached to Chufa here and there, in some places implanted directly into his own hide. The current design is discreet enough that it is almost entirely hidden underneath Chufa's thick fur, a welcome change from the previous, bulkier versions. The apparatus gets it's power from Chufa himself, and cools his body with the power of SCIENCE. Excess exhaust heat is vented from small fans attached to his back, and he has grown accustomed to keep his wings from blocking the exhaust system so as not to overheat the device. The few inserted parts of the suit in his hide are a small sacrifice to be paid for the luxury of staying nigh completely cool in the scorching regions, even making it capable of traversing all but the hottest regions of Ashfall Waste. Thankfully, he has no use for the apparatus inside his own lair (or in colder regions, naturally), for it is maintained at a pleasant 20 degrees at all times.

Physically, Chufa is slightly overweight (owing to his massive appetite!) but physically fit and incredibly robust. He takes relatively little care of his fur, making him have "nest fur" most of the time. It is a mystery how his fur does not end up tangled with itself. His horns are adorned with small brass pins, and he usually has 4 earrings, made from either copper or gold (both great conductors!). His upper canines are somewhat overgrown, and poke from his mouth even with his jaw shut. Although most of his cooling apparatus (The Compact Cooling Pack & Implants MK-IV) is hidden underneath his fur, one can glimpse a few strands of small tubing and tiny devices around his body, as well as the small fans on his back. Despite his somewhat lacking enthusiasm for self-care, he is very meticulous when maintaining his equipment, armor and cooling apparatus.

Like many dragons of his element, Chufa is a tinkerer and a designer of many apparatus and machines, though his train of thought is quite poorly organized, resulting in ideas coming and going without ever even reaching the prototype stage. Still, many of his more practical ideas have been further refined by other dragons, seeing his visions come into reality every once in a while.
