Their story begins...

Once upon a time, a dragon hatched from a strange flower found in the Tangled Wood.

Long before then, she was but a spirit, formless and floating in the great void between all that is living and all that is not. It was some queer coincidence that drew her into being; perhaps the veil was thinner that fateful day, perhaps it was the sorrowful song of a wearied soul crying out. Whatever it was, it moved her through the veil, and bore her upon silent tides to the world known as Sornieth.

She found herself in the Tangled Wood, and there she nested herself in the dark earth and waited. It took a long time to coalesce into being. Ages passed before she could manifest and she was dormant for so very long. Time passed and the forest wrapped petal and vine around her, shrouding her in darkness until she could will her form into being. But the darkness was comfortable, familiar, and she did not wish to leave it when the time came. Instead, she remained, sleeping and safe, curled in the heart of a flower that should not be. More time passed, and her spirit slipped closer and closer to the veil, perhaps yearning to shed itself and return to the quiet void.

But one day, something stirred her. Like that fateful day so long ago, something drew her back from the veil. Something pulled her from the comfortable darkness, and before long, the vines and petals peeled away and revealed her to the open air for the first time in a very long time. And there, waiting for her, was Yuukes.

But this transpired long ago, and she is not as she once was. Time has taught her to change her form, and she has learned to wield some of the strange magics that helped bear her into being. No longer does she feel the call home to the void, and no longer does she fear to be out of the darkness. And after all this time, stalwart at her side is the stranger who waited for her.
