At the dawn of the Lair, there was Joran. Plague-ridden white wings are the only thing he remembers from the time before, luckily the Ice makes it easier to forget... oh, how lovely his snakes are!

As everything, this safe haven of a lair has come with a price.

And still, it was the perfect place for his budding new clan. With bare claws, he started digging tunnels below the Plateau. Hard work, only rewarded by dozens of frost-burns. And it was so much colder than outside in those tunnels. An effect of the magical ice above?

As it turned out later, yes. But the ice also had another, far more important effect. The first time Joran experienced it, he was above the Plateau, scratching intricate decorations into the floor. Below the semi-translucent surface, hes saw a grey shadow move around under his feet.

Probably just one of the many Rasa that live in the area, he thought to himself, that found its way into the tunnels. But before he could move on, a gush of warmth hit him. It came exactly when the shadow was below him.

It struck him. To stay frozen, the Ice emitted the heat it picked up down below. Now, if there just was a way to use this for the benefit of the clan...
