B I O G R A P H Y

Ruid was born as a small dragonette name Crow, deep in the woods of the Foxfire Thicket. Crow’s clan was very tribal, following the traditions of dragons many years ago. You were to follow the profession your mother was in, and your child would eventually replace you. Crow’s mother, Fantasia had the luck of being the shaman of the clan. The job had graced her with high social standing and the joy of being wealthy. Despite her young age, Crow developed an obsession over living up to her mother's expectations and being the best shaman her clan had ever seen.

As she grew so did her reputation, the small dragon that could cure almost any alignment. Dragons from all over soreineth flew to get a brew, a cure for the cold, a fix for broken limbs. But the pressure of her title was drowning her, and soon she began making mistakes in her work. Misplacing an ingredient, handing out the wrong medicine, even losing a few of her patients to illnesses she had cured before. Struggling to keep her head together she made a vital mistake, popping in death berries into the brew instead of juniper. Oblivious, she handed the potion off to the chief warrior, watching as he drank the poisonous brew infront of her. Days later he was found dead next to the river, blood staining the edges of his muzzle.

Once the public heard of his death they mourned, the chief immediately put the body up for autopsy. Sending it to the grave workers to cut open and examine, it was no surprise they found traces of Crows tonic, the death berry poison were painfully obvious in his blood. Soon the whole village knew of Crows ‘attempted murder’ just a accident gone wrong. The chief called for her execution, seizing her at once. Panicked Crow formulated a plan, fake her death and run. With only a mere hour till she was to be taken, she scrambled to set up a messy death scene. She had eaten the death berries and in her panic, stabbed herself. Scattering a combination of crushed cherries and thick tree sap to serve as blood, she coated a small rusty knife with the concoction, the murder weapon.

Packing her bags she fled, jumping out of the window and into the dark night. Swallowing her dark frame with ease, she thought while she flew, of what she had to do now. Change her name, her identity. Ruid, Ruid had been the name of the dragon she murdered. It disgusted her at first, taking the name of a deceased. She owed it to him, to carry on his name at the very least. So with tears flowing down her face she banked left, heading to the Light border.
