Miko doesn't remember much of his old clan, but the one memory that's always stuck with him is the sweet, sweet scent of chocolate.

As a hatchling, he would sneak out from his parents' watch to watch the clan's chocolatier at work. She was a graying old Coatl, and she always seemed to smell of roasting cocoa, even outside of the kitchen. Every morning, she would mold and set out a tray of tiny chocolates, and didn't seem to notice or mind when a few would go missing. She seemed highly amused by the chocolate thief operating right under her nose, and perhaps it was this kindliness that drove Unnamed towards the career himself.

So as soon as he came of age, it came as no surprise that Miko sought out the Callebough Chocolate Academy in the Everbloom Gardens to train. Situated at the very heart of ancestral cocoa-growing lands, he had access to some of the finest teachers and ingredients Sornieth could offer. Throughout its two year course, he learned how to craft white, milk and dark, how to temper it so it snapped cleanly in his claws, and to adjust the cacao volume to individual taste. Every dragons' taste was different, after all, and to work for a clan with many different palates, he had to learn it all. But by combination of personal passion and determination, he finally mastered them all.

Miko found the Clan of the Twisting Lights through an ad. They'd put out a notice that they were looking for a confectioner to complement their current baker. Well, chocolate counts as a confectionery, right? So he applied, succeeded, and got into the clan, and that's how he met his best and worst frenemy, Bloodhound.

Bloodhound was certainly an odd one. He was the best kind of artisan: Innovative, meticulous, and steadfast in his opinions. He was not keen on the idea of sharing his personal workspace with a stranger. And he had his own opinions on chocolate; what the clan would like, which was usually at odds with what Miko had learned at Callebough. It seemed like every time their clanmates would order a cake or pastry, a great argument would start up in the kitchen: One swearing by dark chocolate, the other shouting back that the hatchlings would hate it. There wasn't much consistency, either. One day it would be Bloodhound who insisted on dark, another it would be Miko. The desserts always appeared in the end, though, leaving behind a flour-caked kitchen and hatchlings who'd come to 'taste-test'.

Any onlooker might be led to believe that they hate each other, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Miko has never had more fun in his life, and Bloodhound is happy to have a sounding board other than his mate Fantasia. Even their conflicts are hardly that; they always end on a cheerful note, with both sides laughing and agreeing to disagree. That is, until they realize someone's going to have to clean up the mess they made. "You started it!" "You reacted!" And such is life for Miko. He wouldn't have it any other way.
