Biography
Chou, the Butterfly Huntress
What a lovely little creature you are...
What a lovely little creature you are...
|
Chou is a finely tuned huntress that was raised up by the Enyo Clan. She far surpassed their expectations, becoming the most blood-thirsty hatchling that the clan had ever raised. However, she was not satisfied with hunting other dragons or training up hatchlings. In fact, her prey was a deeply rooted instinct within her body; she wanted to hunt beastclan. And so they allowed her to. Chou did so with such expertise that other dragons suspected she'd be much older than she actually was. She quickly became a legend amongst the beastclans. Stories unfurled about a large dragon who's form shifted into that of a butterfly to lure unsuspecting beast to their demise, spiriting them away without a trace. Her butterfly wings were world renowned for their ability to take away any and all attention that her dragon body would bring in; when they were in full furl, she was practically invisible as a dragon. This only allowed her skill to grow and soon she was among the top 'silent killers' of Soreinth. |
I'd love to see how tough you are..
The Wispwillow Grove was teeming with wildlife that day. Something about the way the sun cascaded across the pine trees and slumbering fungi gave off a tranquil vibe of safety and calm: something that was fairly rare in the Tangled Wood. While various beastclan members took advantage of this brief opportunity to gather various plants and supplies for the coming winter. However, one foolish owlcat wanted nothing to do with the boring ritual of gathering food. This creature would rather frolic around in the sunshine and chase various insects while its elder siblings did the boring adult activities.
The owlcat began to stray. Soon, he was a fair distance away from the rest of his fellow clan, sprinting after a large beetle with laughter bubbling up from his throat. He thoroughly enjoyed the hunt; whether he caught the bug or not was not important. But thats the way he lived his life; carefree and without worry. Suddenly, he came to a stop, looking around with wide curious eyes. He was sure he'd seen something far more interesting than the beetle. Something larger, too. Somewhere.... There!
The owlcat's wings twitched excitedly beside him; it must have been the largest butterfly he'd ever seen hiding a ways off in the bramble. His family had told him a rare flower sprouted there in the autumn so he'd assumed thats what the large bug was going for. Well, he wasn't going to let it go about its day unnoticed! The beast bounded off in the direction he'd seen the insect, a happy grin on his face.
However, the young owlcat wasn't the only one on the hunt today. A much more serious mirror was lurking just out of sight, her body hunkered low to the ground with her wings spread fully unfurled and moving whimsically above her hidden body. Chou let out a silent hiss, her electric blue eyes gleaming in excitement as she saw her prey near; it was a young owlcat. What a catch! That species of beastclan was known for its elusive and cautious behavior but here she was, guiding one to her with her beautiful butterfly-patterned wings. The dragon could feel herself salivating and gulped in anticipation. She had to wait for the right moment...
The owlcat took flight as it raced towards the large butterfly. If he came at it from above, then there was certainly no way it could escape. He was so close, he could practically taste it! And smell it!Wait... his wings billowed backwards, trying frantically to stop his advance towards the 'butterfly', but momentum continued to carry him forward. The insect smelled like a dragon; no, it was definitely a dragon. His body tingled in fear as he fell down towards the insect, and Chou smiled wickedly up at the small creature, fangs gleaming in the sunlight.
That was the last anyone saw of that carefree owlcat.
