Bryer is one of Merine’s personal retainers, and though he takes the job of protecting her and attending to her needs seriously, he has other things on his mind. Bryer is quite a vain dragon, very taken with his own good looks and charm. Perhaps too much so.

Bryer loves the lady-dragons, and isn’t shy about it. (The one exception he makes is Merine, who he sees purely as his royal charge and nothing more.) He wishes to sire a great many hatchlings that share his good looks. As shallow as it may sound, that is Bryer's ultimate goal in life. He's not doing too bad a job of it so far, either. He also keeps his body honed and strong, and often goes out hunting with fellow retainers Adder and Amorra, who at least respect his skills enough to put up with his vanity.

Bryer has had many hatchlings, but only one, his son Coco, has stuck around to keep hims company. Perhaps Coco worries his father is lonely for true companionship- or perhaps he just wants to curb his philandering ways.
