name meaning: Means "stinging" in Latin. The eyeburner of my dreams. He hurts to look at, but I love him a lot.

The poor boy was grabbed as a youngling and thrown into a ring of Gladiators, which treated him horribly. He was teased mercilessly for his colorings, the main thing that made him get grabbed because he stood out so much. The only solace he found was in an older boy, nicknamed Ace, who shared the same turquoise color in hair who basically self appointed himself as Mordax's older brother. The name was chosen by the leaders for his colors and his fighting style - he didn't strike often, but when he did it was painful and usually ended the fight in his favor. He hated the fighting and constantly tried to escape, but never could. He grew up in the arena; stuck in a never ending cycle of death and blood and death and blood and sleep and training. That's the most prominent part he remembers, so much training. Trying to get the blood off his fur and oh, Lightweaver, it's stuck under his nails and it's not coming out and he might be stuck with blood on him forever.

Eventually he was forced to kill Ace in combat when they were thrown into a battle together. It caused a lot of drama in the crowds because they were both crying and eventually Ace just threw his weapon to the side in forfeit. Ace let Mordax kill him, after they had a very long hug and Ace explained that he didn't hold this against Mor at all. Ace had lived a much longer life, and wanted to give Mor the chance to have the same. Ace had been free once and wanted Mor to experience that, wanted him to know what it was like to not have to fight every day.

Mor made it quick, and sunk to the ground with Ace's body. Sobbing over limp figure of his only friend, the crowd was outraged that they had been forced to do this. Riots started up and the battles were stopped, while the gladiators weren't released yet. As Mordax fell into a deep depression, the arena he was in was almost literally crumbling down around him. He was oblivious until he was dragged out of the cell he was in just before the roof caved. He was pushed outside and his eyes stung due to the bright light.

He found strength in being in his element and somewhat snapped out of his mood in order to find the new young ones that had just been brought in a few days before the riots. He made sure they were safe and comforted them - the arena was the only home they'd ever known, and sure, it was a really bad place, but it was still home. Many of them were in tears over the crumbled mess of the building.

Many of the dragons who were in the riots were happy to take the babies and give them better, more loving homes. Some taking two or even three, not wanting to separate the groups of close friends. Mor frequently checks in on them and it's always a momentous occasion, because as they got bigger, their tackles of joy started getting stronger. Soon the groups would barrel him over upon entry and they'd all have a good laugh about it.

As he was travelling between clans, he was found by Fai as he was checking in on his young ones, and he offered Mor a place in the clan. Mor graciously accepted after seeing a lot of the same values in the clan that he had himself. Now he usually can bring gifts with when he visits rather than just himself - to the joy of the kids.

He slowly got used to a clan life instead of a gladiator life, and now works as a trainer of the younglings. He isn't a trainer in the military sense, but in just basic things. Walking, talking, basic knowledge. He's a big help to the families who have more than 2 eggs at once in keeping them corralled and on task.

Now, he's much happier. He's still mourning his loss of Ace and probably always will, but that phase of his life is in the past. He's happy to live in the now, where he has a loving clan and a place to belong that doesn't mean fighting for his standings every day.

He hopes to one day have young ones of his own, but doesn't have a mate yet. He's in no rush, since his hands are usually full with other hatchlings anyway. (11 Sep 2016)
