Biography

Armorsmith, weaponsmith, forger of large metal tools and hardware.

Official Runeforged Automata

Arya and Balor came to Tir na nOg as two seperate dragons, unbeknownst to the other when and how. Balor, great smith of armor, sought the talented claws of the foreign goddess Brigid, whos swords were legendary. Trekking from his original home in the Blacksand Annex, he made his way all across the land of Sornieth to get to The Gladeveins.

On their search for building a perfect, mechanical assistant to rival the machines in The Shifting Expanse, they created a smithing robot, to assist them in menial tasks. Using their runic magic they brought him to life, and showed him their ways. When he had learned all hey had to teach them, one of the great, stone guardians that watched the nesting grounds spoke to him of a goddess, not from Sornieth, who could teach him yet more. He had to go, and followed the nest wardens directions all the way to the Gladeviens. With his bright eyes and his wings f fire he blazed, almost literally, a trail to Tir na nOg, and asked to be seen.

Upon meeting him Brigid was more interested in how he was built than teaching him, and he made a deal with her. She could disassemble him, once, wholly, and put him back together, if he could be her apprentice. She considered this, and agreed. He watched as she took him apart, studying his core, his animatronics, the great hot furnace that powered his fiery wings. It took her days to be satisfied, but when she put him back together she handed him a hammer. She began his tutelidge, starting small and working her way to more important things like armors and etc. What he didn't know, was that she was secretly using the knowledge she gleaned from him, and building a second robot!

One day she started the robot up, and brought Balor in to see her. Her name was Arya, and Brigid had no problem with arranged marriages so she had made the robot as his mate. He was ecstatic, and Arya wasn't so much. It would take a few years of his ardent confessions of love, kind acts and very bad singing to woo her, and when they were mated they were given an Eldersigl and asked to stay. Balor became the smithy of large things, like cookware and armor, and Arya took a more delicate path and made jewelery.

One day, she rushed Balor over to Brigid and looked at them both. She stated that she saw the Nest Wardens, stone constructs, having eggs, and she wanted to be able to as well. Brigid was happy to hear this, and Balor was floored. He was gonna be a dad! Brigid snipped the last few inches off of each of their tails and mashed the metal together with her great, hot fists. She told Arya to draw from this as one would a chunk of silver, and spin a lattice egg. Set the egg in the fire of the main forge and she would make sure it became an egg.

Arya did so, drawing thin cords from the sizeable chunk, and spun an egg. Laying it in the fire she waited, watching it become whitehot with the fire. Slowly the metal began to run, as if over a predetermined surface, in the shape of the egg! When Brigid pulled it out the black egg was spiderwebbed with ridges from her laced design, but it was so heavy. Surely a new life dwelled within. They were instructed to keep it in their home forge, not close to as hot as Brigids main, and wait for tapping.

Almost six days later, a metallic ping rung out in their den. Arya was excited, and stoked the fire. Balor helped a little by feeding the flames. Soon the outside began to wilt, and a small paw pushed through the softened metal. With a little help, their first child was born, a machine like themselves.
