Beryl

Beryl is a charismatic charmer and is also very gushy towards romance. He has a lot of trashy romance novels stashed in his little part of the Haven, and usually shares them with Xanna whenever she visits (which she usually leaves flustered, but not because of the books).

He also is a writer of quite a few romance novels himself, and is famous for bestsellers such as Traveller's Guardian, which is about a traveling Wildclaw finding himself in love with a Guardian prince, and Faerie Falling, which is about two starcrossed Fae lovers born in the Nature flight getting injured and lost somewhere in the Starfall Isles and ending up in a poly relationship with a Coatl sorceress. One of these ends in a tragic plot twist, but noooo spoilers!

Before he started residing in the Haven, he was travelling near the lair intoxicated when he was found by Bombax, who would have engaged in battle with him, had he not known that not only was he drunk, but also that he had written one of his favorite novels. Bombax took him in and nursed Beryl back to health himself, while Grapefruit made him swear to refrain asking any questions about his career until Beryl had healed up (which was surprising considering Grapefruit is an even bigger fan of him than Bombax).
