Biography

plagueh5.png
Screams and roars filled the air. Claws raked across scales, and bolts of magic flew through the small space between the clashing bodies. She darted in and out of the fray, slashing at an enemy whenever she could. Suddenly, a fire Guardian was in front of her, and before she could even react the whole right side of her face was on fire, and the only thing she could hear was her own screams.
The next thing she remembered was opening her eyes (...why could she only see out of one side of her face?) to the sight of a gray wildclaw only inches from her own snout.

"Woah-don't freak out," said the Wildclaw. "I'm not finished bandaging the wound on your shoulder yet."
Her mind was slow. ...wound?

"You're probably really confused right now." Said the Wildclaw. "I'm Calor, in case you were wondering. We found you in what looked like the aftermath of a big scuffle-you were really lucky that me and Ramos were out hunting that day."

She finally got her tongue to work. "I... I'm a part of a traveling army. I need... I need to-"

"Whoa, whoa." Calor interrupted. "Given the severity of your wounds, you're not going anywhere until you've had time to rest. You... you have some severe wounds on the right side of your face. You probably won't be able to see out of that side anymore." The Wildclaw hung her head sadly. "I... I'm sorry."

She let out a raspy laugh, ignoring the fact that her laughter sounded like a dying animal.
"...Just my luck, isn't it?"

Calor smiled just a bit. "And... I managed to save your chestplate, if that's anything. There's a few new scratches in it, but your scarf got off stain-free, so... that's something, right?"

She laughed some more. That way, she could almost convince herself it was entirely genuine.
Over the next few days, as she recovered, she got to know the dragons in the clan she was currently in. Razoredge, Jayfeather, and Raventh were a trio of surprisingly kind dragons (Then again, she really didn't have many to compare them to). There was also Fel, who she met while she had been limping around, trying to get used to getting around with only half of her sight. He was in charge of the clan hoard, and when he saw her he had instantly went over from whatever he had been working on to offering her to pick something from the apparel stores, saying that she looked "A little scruffy."

Not able to turn down the look on his face, she had picked out a set of leg armor (being a relatively low-ranked soldier in her army, she was only given one piece of armor;after all, supplies were scarce), a pair of gloves, and a headband, so dragons had at least something to look at besides the awful scars covering half her face.

She also saw a friendly pair of dragons-Soron and Falls, who had been teaching a strange-looking green dragon the "joys of drawing."

Eventually, she figured out what was so off about this clan-they were all too nice.

They had a limited fighting force-and while a few of them were quite capable of holding their own in battle, others were, to be quite blunt, not. She could feel the desire to return to her army beginning to shrink, a fact that both intrigued and terrified her. Her army could go on with one less low-ranked warrior... but this kind, sweet, diplomatic clan couldn't.

After all, there was a lot of food here.
