______ It's an ongoing question throughout the outlying Clans how such a young, small dragon could wrest control of a lair that increases in size daily from two older, stronger Mirrors, and an even larger mystery as to how she manages to keep Imperials thrice her size from eating her as an hors d'oeuvre.

In hushed whispers, they speak of those Mirrors, now sent to the Stormcatcher, and how their lair seemed so promising. In a barely audible humming, they wonder why. A crime, perhaps? Or a reason based more in greed and selfishness, in a manner of thinking foreign to dragonkind and to all but those incubated by the sands of the desert and tempered by the Lightning of their Deity?

Look into her eyes, if you can. If you ever get the chance. You'll find your answer there, if you catch her on an off day or in the right light. You may yet see the golden flash of gears behind that aqua glass, the same shade as the gold of the metal that makes up her arms and hands. Clockwork vision.

Madee is an engineer, as many of Lightning are. As a Fae, she has intensely powerful magic if she's in her element, and she's used that to her advantage over the months and years. She answers to none but the Stormcatcher himself (as those exalted Mirrors found out long ago), and she, if you need it, will Save you.

Every dragon under her command owes their life to her, from her mate to the longest standing members of her Clan. She Saved many of them as hatchlings, with clockwork organs and life-support systems for those severed from their magic.

Those who don't require her mechanical expertise come to her for a different reason entirely, chasing a rumor or a fairytale or looking for someone powerful to hide behind. Deep in the lair, in Madee's workshop, large gears and catches can sometimes be heard turning, and a humming that shakes the very earth around them fills the caverns. Dragons who catch the malicious glow of the eyes of her Mechs are never, ever seen again.


______ When she's not Saving dragons or constructing what one can only assume are giant death-machines, Madee's actually quite relaxed. She's not a dragon of many words, to be sure, but she has a quick wit when she needs to and a daring smile underneath those unnatural eyes. She moves with the speed and precision only the Stormcatcher's engineers are capable of, and while she can be sharp of tongue she isn't much of a haggler at market -- that's what she has a mate for, after all.
