As food stores are gathered in, Eliane moves into her element. She cans apples, strawberries, and tomatoes, pickles onions and radishes, makes jam and relishes, and prowls the piles of stored potatoes, pumpkins, onions, garlic, and apples, watching for any hint of decay. She is always eager to hear a new method of preservation, or a new recipe for making salsa or relish to spice up a dish and help her produce keep longer.

During the long winters, Eliane is occupied in rearranging shelves, ensuring that the oldest and wrinkliest of the vegetables get eaten first. She keeps track of which of the vegetables tastes the best and lasts the longest so that she can save the best of the seeds for next spring's planting, slowly developing new variations that last better in the harsh weather of Dragonhome.

She presses oil out of the olives painstakingly collected from the Light Domain for cooking, and strains fat from animal carcasses for lamp oil. The resulting oil, mixed with perfume, means that even if the lair's magic is snuffed out, they will have light for the lair.

Eliane's work is not as flashy nor as innovative as Jean-Luc's. But she, like her mate, enjoys creating new things for the good of the clan, and finds a special pleasure in watching clan members use and enjoy her creations. 		tumblr_inline_our7s4c1XH1t6xkgm_540.png
