Biography
Return to Quietus ID#307417
At the far end of the garden, you find the graveyard. Dozens of graves cover the ground. Each is adorned in an array of flowers and items left as gifts to the dead. You see a dragon sitting below a massive oak tree. Beside him are a fresh grave and a muddied shovel. His feral gaze meets yours. He lifts his head up and sniffs the air. He lets out a sad sigh and slowly shakes his head as he picks up his shovel and begins to dig a new grave as if sensing death on the wind. A sudden sense of dread envelops you sending shivers down your spine. You shake it off and quickly continue on your way though you can’t help but wonder who the graves are for.
Charon is the graveyard keeper and the guardian of the dead. He digs the graves and tends to the grounds surrounding them ensuring that each grave and tomb receives fresh flowers from the garden. Charon also helps the souls of the dead pass on to the next world and keeps the company of those who linger. Those laid to rest in the Umbra tend to grow restless and Charon ensures they do not wander.
It is said that in times of need when the existence of the clan is threatened the Umbral Lord comes to Charon. Charon can create a bridge between the worlds allowing the dead to cross over into the land of the living. The Lord's voice echos through the void between the worlds calling for aid from their ancestors, and when the Umbral Lord calls an army shall answer.
