L U M I N A R Y The Melancholic Ghost  Luminary is quiet most of the time, preferring not to say anything instead of sparking a conversation. She's not bothered when one starts, but they never usually last that long anyways. Her voice is very soft and angelic, like wind chimes in a gentle breeze. Many have been head over heels for her based upon her looks and voice, but are put-off by her large vocabulary and odd mannerisms. She never wanted to fall in love, it'd always been a distasteful subject for her, but then she met Justice. He was a gentleman to her, and extremely understanding of why she didn't feel romantically towards him. She never felt romantic emotions about anyone in her lifetime, it just, wasn't like her. But at some point, something just clicked for her, she was denying that she was in love. Her fear of it so great it masked her undying affection for the mage. It took a while after the realization for her to say something to him, her paranoia overpowering her. She'd never been a very paranoid or easily worried person, the feeling was new to her adding on to the stress. Justice noticed this soon enough and pulled her aside to ask her what was wrong. Luminary confessed everything, that she loved him so much but was so afraid of that. He comforted her in response telling her to take things at her own pace. She fell asleep on him that night after the exhaustion finally hit, Justice not wanting to disturb her stayed there and let Luminary rest. From then on their relationship excelled and they gave birth to, two beautiful hatchlings named Dust and Arizona respectively. Everything was so peaceful and domestic. Then Luminary went missing, search parties went out looking for her but they always came back fruitless. Justice searched for months after the search parties stopped, Red tailed along with him until they sat him down and told him that they weren't going to find her. His defeat was reluctant, but he accepted it and he became more detached afterwards. Luminary on the other hand had died months ago. |

They got lost in the deepest parts of the library after a particularly terrifying nightmare. It was a vision of her own death and her heartbroken children. Her lover too, which hurt the most. She was only planning to take a walk, but she didn't stop walking something compelled her forward without reason. Luminary collapsed a few hours later and fell asleep. Once they woke up they realized how lost they were, and they never did find their way back in time. Starving to death in the ghostly quiet halls. Luminary came back as a ghost not long after her own death. She felt she still had to do something and could not rest peacefully. But she couldn't remember what it was. Haunting the halls of the endless library for an eternity was the least desirable fate for her. She couldn't do much about it, but spend her time trying to remember what she needed to do. Not only that, but she couldn't directly speak to most dragons (Specter and Osiris are odd exceptions), so she was completely unable to explain her death. Specter was unreasonable and Osiris did his best to completely ignore her existence. She could be seen by only those who got lost in the library, and did her best to corral them back into the main area so they didn't end up with the same fate. Most see the candles before they see Luminary, who still remains barely visible when seen. Her visibility seems like a trick of the light usually, and spooks dragons. |

Justice: Her long lost lover, she misses him so much. Wants nothing more than a happy reunion where everything turns out okay and then goes back to normal with him. She can't remember his face and it tears her apart. Arizona: Her precious daughter, she wishes she could have been there to stop things before they got out of hand. Her poor daughter, she's so damaged and there's nothing she can do about it. She just wants to fix this dysfunctional family so badly. Dust: Her grieving son, she can see the way his face falls and exhaustion truly hits at the end of the day. He's so tired, so tired of trying to keep himself busy and drowning out bad thoughts by being someone else. She hears the underlying desperation to be noticed in his words and leaves pick-me-ups at his door (he blames Arizona, she denies it, but either way it strengthens their bond and Luminary is okay with that). Specter: An absolute pain, yet also an odd friend, Specter can see her proving that they are actually capable of communing with spirits. Wow! Only takes dying to find out that they're not just a weird occult friend. But in all honesty, Specter and her get along quite nicely despite the differences in personalities. The two have a bunch of wacky banter that somehow flows well. Luminary tried to get her to send a message to her kids, but Specter made it cryptic and unnerving so she crossed that one off the list. Osiris: Not even trying, flat out ignores Luminary's existence even though the surprise on his face the first time was easily recognizable (he had tried to bring her to Justice, but when he noticed the translucence to her scales, and the fact that if he focused to hard she'd disappear it made sense. His expression melted to sadness afterwords until he forced it back to a neutral expression). |
