 Miracle "We are all broken. That is how light gets in." On many occasions Arcane eggs have been known to float away, gently nudging past whatever protective spells that shielded it from the outside world. Those eggs are called the Lost Adventurers -- Arcanites that are so curious. they just had to set out on their very own journey even before they hatched. Miracle is one of those eggs, and the only one gently bobbing in her crystalline nest. A strong gust of wind swept her away from the Starfall Isles. As Arcane eggs are known for their levitation, Miracle's egg did not fall and shatter upon the ground like eggs from other flights would've. She was airborne and she was carried far away to the realm of the Lightweaver -- the Sunbeam Ruins. And she was born, brilliantly, shining as if all the light in the world had been condensed into a single form. Her magenta eyes alone betrayed her heritage, and after some consideration, a pair of scholars nearby decided to take her under their wing. Miracle grew like any other dragon of the Light Flight. She became an avid scholar and her mind was keener than a knife. She was always at the top of her class and she was a quick learner. Never once did she consider that she was wrong. Never once did she wonder why her eyes were of a different color, or why she was named so. The eye color of dragons and what it represented was not written down in books. It was common knowledge, and Miracle paid little attention to common knowledge. Only when one of her rivals at school insulted her as a "magic lubber" did she realize what she truly was -- an Arcanite. This shock mightn't have meant much to any other dragon, but for Miracle, who had always regarded herself so highly, it was devastating. What did they mean that her parents were not her real parents? What did they mean, they with their brilliant golden eyes, that she did not belong? If she did not belong here, then where?

Confused and frustrated, Miracle dropped her lessons. She set out for the Starfall Isles, desperate to understand who she was. Was she an acolight, or an arcanite? Were her parents the ones who raised her, or the ones whose blood ran in her veins? And where was home, this term that was becoming more and more foreign by the second. Was her home in the Starfall Isles, or in the Sunbeam Ruins? Upon finding her biological parents, Miracle became even more confused, because they showed her as much love as her foster parents did, something she had not expected because she had not though of them as her parents yet. They told her the story of her floating egg and they invited her to join their clan and complete the family circle. This was too much for Miracle. Too many stories. Too many confusions. She turned from them and she ran. The journey that commenced afterwards gave Miracle a new perspective. She wandered the world, trying to understand just who exactly she was. She met dragons who lived in flights they had not been borne in. She spoke to dragons who called those of different eye colors their family. But she found that all of them had been given a choice to move to another flight or join another clan, another family. She had been given none. Her egg had simply been picked up by the wind and launched into space. Totally unfair. This identity crisis impacted Miracle deeply. She had grown up sure of herself, and now she felt as if she was standing on the edge of a cliff, wobbling, uncertain and afraid because she was uncertain. Who was she, this Snapper dragon, this Acolight not from Light? Who was she, this lonely dragon, this Arcanite not born in Arcane? |

Miracle might've gone insane. She might've just lost it all and gone off the deep end to join the twisted and the wicked. But one day, while in the Windswept Plateau, she heard of a dragon in a nearby clan whose egg had been found bobbing in the waters. He was a dragon of Light heritage, but he had grown up in the Wind Flight. Like her, he had not been given a choice. She went to him and she spoke with him. "Who are you?" Miracle had asked. "You are not of this flight and those you call your parents are not your true mother and father." "They do not decide who I am." The Spiral had replied simply. "I do." Though the way has not been easy, Miracle is grateful that she is now wiser than she had ever been. Her identity was no longer a crisis. She was who she chose to be. She might not be able to choose her parentage, but her legacy was her own. Her life was hers to shape; her family hers to choose. For she is Miracle, the One Who Lived, Child of Light and Magic. |
