Starling

Starling was born in Arcane and lived with her scientist parents until recently. She shared a close bond with her parents and an even stronger bond with science. Her parents and the entirety of her clan perished in a massive explosion brought on by unknown causes. She watched in horror as her family, friends, and schoolmates mutated into grotesque forms of themselves, those that did not die were slaughtered for fear of the mutation spreading. She escaped, still in her Pearlcatcher form, it was days before she was finally coherent enough to finally see the beast she had become. She has a hard time remembering anything about her time before the explosion and regains memories not in the traditional sense but in an intense burst of emotion. Her pearlcatcher pearl also mutated during the blast becoming the sentient magical creature it is today, it still bears memories of her past but rarely lets Starling see them.

Starling is a very clever dragon, she is still very young and her worldly knowledge has yet to catch up to her book smarts. During her education at the Starfall Institution Starling had a penchant for snooping and stumbled upon her parents secret files. She was reading these files when the meltdown happened and so they are her freshest memory. She remembers a detailed report of a dragon they were tracking for years, due to to knowledge they possessed. The file had the exact location of this dragon but Starlings memories are much to hazy to remember completely. She does however know the dragon resides in light territory, and possessed knowledge that could have saved all the dragons that died.
