______ Rumor has it that long ago a clan of imperials that were surrounded by butterflies desired to be as beautiful as they were. They adored the bright vibrant colors and various patterns that adorned their wings and they wanted to find a way to bring these wonderful colors and patterns onto their own wings. They traveled across Sornieth in order to find a powerful enough dragon who could fulfill their wish. Eventually, after years of fruitless results, they decided to approach their deity, the Lightweaver who rested upon The Beacon of the Radiant Eye. They begged the deity of light to grant them their wish and after much consideration, she decided to grant them their wish. It is said their wings were dazzled in sunlight before fading away to reveal the beautiful colors and patterns of a butterfly. The dragons were very grateful for their deity, however, what they had no way of knowing was that a curse had been put upon them for valuing beauty above all else. Misfortune would plague these dragons for their lifetime along with the lifetimes of their ancestors that possessed these butterfly wings.

After many centuries, Omen hatched from her egg in the Shifting Expanse. She was born with a pair of vibrant blue, yellow, and white butterfly wings, thus it was thought that she bore the curse from the legend. Misfortune plagued her life, as many battles were waged against her clan, dragons that she knew were injured or killed in battle, and believing that this was the curse that she had heard stories of, Omen fled from home so that those in her clan would no longer be hurt by her. She traveled far from the Shifting Expanse and was discovered by a green and blue fae named, Valdis. He took pity on the hatchling and brought her back to his clan with a great deal of trouble as the young hatchling protested the whole journey. Omen was brought under the care of Zovdaag and Calavera and they began to raise her along with the other hatchlings in their care.

Omen is a very shy dragon, but this is more by choice. She would love to play with the other hatchlings in her clan but is fearful that by getting close to them that they would be hurt because of the curse. She instead spends her time doing things that she can do by herself; swimming, reading, collecting shells of bugs.

Zovdaag and Calavera talk with her every day, hoping to bring the young hatchling out of her own shell.
