Biography
Jarrow was brought up as a warrior. The clan found him when he was still young, after what was deemed by his master a failed mission. He'd been wounded, and his quarry had escaped. When he came to his master for help, he was told that he had no place returning to the clan with such a loss under his belt. The master left him for the wilderness or the rival clans to find, whichever came first.
He is ever-resourceful but has problems making emotional connections to others. His skills make him a valuable member of the clan, though his tendency to attack before asking questions has caused problems more than once. He has been known to butt heads with Osprey, accusing him of being wasteful or too self-important. Osprey's reply is, "I may like myself, but YOU don't care about ANYBODY."
Jarrow usually walks off when Osprey plays that card, but secretly he is very hurt by it. In large part, it's true. Jarrow has bonded with no members of the clan, keeping to himself and merely sharing his expertise to see that things get done the "proper" way. He thinks the clan's mission to save weak dragons is an unworthy one - and inside he feels immense shame at being one of their found rejects. He hates that most of the other dragons are grateful to be there - he wishes he could talk to even ONE dragon who feels the way he does.
Down inside, he still thinks he doesn't deserve to be alive after failing his master. His current clan is trying to teach him that he can exist as himself, without owing anything to another person, but most of the lessons bounce right off him.
Jarrow's respect is earned through strength and the willingness to use it. Hence, he does respect Skullbound for her willingness to protect her friends and, begrudgingly, clan leader Donadar, despite finding her mission unpalatable. Sekhmet and Myra also hold a place of respect with him.
