He was always the ugliest. Dravite's siblings were so colorful, elegant and absolutely beautiful, as were his parents. Unlike them, Dravite was simple and plain. The only way in which he matched said parents were through his wings, the only spot of color on him that marked his lineage. For this, he was rejected, not in such obvious ways, but in subtle ways. His siblings refused to play and his parents never listened to his side of the story when arguments broke out in their little clutch. For awhile, he felt inadequate, unloved, and worthless to not only his family, but the entirety of the clan.

This depression stirred in Dravite a long while and over this period he spent a long time pondering his existence and why it had come to this. During this long period, he also found comfort in one of his clanmates,an older imperial who was also regarded as ugly and without purpose, by the younger dragons at least. In truth this old imperial had wisdom and experience, a compassion that contrasted his hulking figure and frank demeanor. What was also little known about this imperial was despite his gruff demeanor, he was of the higher court. This clan elder spoke with him and finally brought Dravite out of his depression, at least a little bit and for a little while. It was a lengthy struggle to acceptance and it is far from over.

Now this young imperial is ready to paint his own story, he hopes to use his skills and strengths to one day amount to a soldier, or learn a worthy profession. He wants his actions to demonstrate his worth and not his look. Dravite may not be experienced but he is certainly more than willing and very determined to be a success at his future path, no matter what it may be

D ravite left his old home in the city state of Taranis as soon as he was old enough to be considered an independent dragon. He was the last of his siblings to be with his parents and it was brutal as they were so much crueler to him once they were gone. He had once again sought his friend's consul before leaving to be assured that what he was doing was right. They were cruel to him, but they were his parents and somehow he felt guilty leaving them. When Dravite's friend pushed him to do what was truly best for himself, it was when he said goodbye to the only family he had ever known, in the only home he had ever known, even if it felt more like a prison.

So Dravite left the city and began his journey. He did not know where he would go nor what he would learn but he was sure that things would work out in some way or another. Within the first few days of his independence, he had reached a problem though. And that was he had no idea how to fend for himself in the wild. Taranis was prosperous to the point of food being available on every street corner and the phenomenon of famine was rare even in the desert climate and under the everlasting tempest. Outside the borders of his home, food was more scarce. He was not unfamiliar though and found it easy to survive on bonepicking. The real problem was when he entered the Tangeled Wood, the sshadow domain. So many things were foreign to him, and he decided avoiding food and water would be all together better than risking being poisoned. Within a few days of entering that territory, he was close to death. That was when Kuroshio found him.
