Sproutling is an herbalist and florist, interested in plants and gardening. Unlike Tundra, Snapper, and Pearlcatcher gardeners who have a tendency to eat their plants, Sproutling has the ability to tend his plants without eating any of them. Instead, he is able to study the genetics of the plants to breed them for a variety of colors, a variety of flavors, and a variety of medicinal and edible properties.

He tends to work closely with Ratchet when it comes to the medical applications of plants. If he needs to know about the medical applications of them in a combat setting, he turns to Eulalia and Falion, who are quite skilled in combat medicine. He keeps note of these medical applications of plants in a leather-bound notebook.

When it comes to the edible applications of plants, he tends to work with Summervale, Seablaze, Wintershadow, and Dragonfruit for savory applications, and with Frosting, Wildrider, Miracle, Jade, Biscotti, Gwenevere, and Firebrand on the sweet applications of baking. He trusts that the clan chefs will come up with some of the best uses for the plants.

What doesn't go to the clan's medical and cooking uses is sold for a tidy profit. Sproutling relies on the help of Aumia for that, knowing she will be shrewd about business deals and trusting her to get the best profit.
